The second-gen Honda BR-V gets a special N7X Edition in Indonesia, featuring unique styling touches inspired its original concept model.
The second-generation Honda BR-V now comes with a special N7X Edition for the Indonesian market, as revealed by Honda Indonesia (PT Honda Prospect Motor) at the ongoing 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show. This special edition features additional styling touches inspired by the BR-V’s concept form.
An abbreviation for ‘New 7-Seater eXcitement’, the BR-V N7X gets a stylish dark chrome front grille, plus a rugged aero kit featuring a front and rear skid plate, a small rear spoiler, and side skirts. More dark-hued parts can be found scattered throughout this MPV, including on the side mirror caps and door handles, as well as the 17-inch wheels it rides on.
On top of the additional exterior bits, the BR-V N7X Edition also gets a special Sand Khaki Pearl paint job, aside from the usual hue options like Premium Opal White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, and Meteoroid Grey Metallic.
The BR-V N7X’s cabin, however, remains relatively the same as the standard ones, featuring a 7-inch infotainment display with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Other key items included are the 4.2-inch TFT metre display, leather-wrapped steering wheel and seats, as well as six airbags.
The second-gen BR-V uses a very familiar powertrain setup, consisting of a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine mated to a CVT automatic gearbox
On the powertrain front, the BR-V N7X Edition is largely identical to the standard model, harnessing a familiar 1.5-litre 4-cyl DOHC i-VTEC mill rated at 121 PS and 145 NM. With drive sent to the front wheels (FWD) via a CVT gearbox, this powertrain setup is the exact same one used on both the WR-V crossover and the City models.
For the Indonesian market, the all-new Honda BR-V N7X Edition starts at IDR 319.4 million (RM97,620) for the baseline N7X E CVT model, while the top-specced N7X Prestige with Honda Sensing is capped at IDR 363.4 million (RM110,996).
While both the Indonesian and Thai markets already debuted the second-gen BR-V, Malaysia only got the first-gen model, which was then indirectly replaced by the sportier WR-V small SUV crossover. As of now, Honda Malaysia does not have any plans to introduce the new BR-V for our market, leaving both its Japanese rivals, the Mitsubishi Xpander and Toyota Veloz, to reign in this market segment locally.
