Tesla Model 3 Hits Wall In Serdang - Wall’s Legality Questioned
-full_normal.jpg)
In a social media post by YC Shaun, a Tesla Model 3 Highland was involved in an unusual accident. In the said post, it details how a driver crashed said EV through a brick wall at the dead end section of Jalan BS 3/12 in Serdang.

Based on our observations, the wall was a simple brick wall, suggesting that it was built by the housing area's residents association rather than the local council. The poster confirmed this, as the wall had been in place for over a decade to protect residents by limiting entry and exit points because their adjourning area had not yet been developed.

According to YC Shaun, the driver blamed the accident on the darkness of the night, despite the fact that the road appeared to be well lit in the photos shared. Fortunately, the driver was not injured due to the vehicle's airbags and well-constructed crumple zones.
Others on social media, however, are not only questioning the driver's state at the time of the incident, which appears to have occurred at 2AM after his visit to the Pik Wah Restaurant, but also the legality of the wall's erection.

We expect Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MBSJ) to have its hands full this week resolving this issue, as we are confident residents will be opposed to permanently removing the wall.

Fortunately, the Tesla Model 3 involved in the accident is a local variant distributed by Tesla Malaysia. This means the vehicle owner will have access to Tesla's Body & Paint centre and comprehensive insurance coverage if no laws are broken.
However, we are unsure whether this will be an insurance write-off or repaired, as the damage to the Model 3 appears extensive but not serious due to its well-built structure and safety rating.
