You Can Now Rent The Posh And Dynamic BMW iX Through Hertz Malaysia

The BMW iX is arguably a benchmark-setter in its segment. However, premium pricing does see it being just out of reach for some.
Very few cars – both combustion and electric – have the talents and traits to arguably define its segment. However, the BMW iX is arguably one prime example which, and it perhaps stands as the benchmark-setter for premium mid-sized EV SUVs as such.
However, with current prices ranging from RM385,430 (iX xDrive40, excluding extended warranty and service) to RM645,630 (iX M60, extended warranty and service included), it’s safe to say that that this EV SUV may just be out of reach for some.
That may not be the case anymore for said few as the model is now available for rent through Hertz Malaysia (Sime Darby Rent-A-Car– SDRAC). This new rental service was borne out of a collaboration between SDRAC and leading BMW dealers Sime Darby Auto Bavaria(Auto Bavaria).

A new partnership between Auto Bavaria and Hertz Malaysia now sees the BMW iX available for rent from as low as RM550 a day or RM5,500 a month.
The collaboration was announced earlier today and it sees this exclusive rental offer devised with the upcoming Chinese New Year festivities in mind. Considering which, Hertz Malaysia is electing to offer the BMW iX with special introductory rental rates starting at RM550 per day and RM5,500 per month.
A quick check online through Hertz Malaysia’swebsite (simedarbycarrental.com) reveals that this service offers up the BMW iX xDrive40 variant specifically. As a refresher, this variant of the BMW iX packs a dual-motor setup outputting 322 HP (240 kW) and 630 NM, which sees 0-100 KM/H done in a zippy 6.1 seconds.
Said powertrain in juiced by a 76.6 kWh (71 kWh nett) lithium-ion battery pack mounted in the floor that grants a claimed WLTP-rated range of up to 425 KM. Said battery also accepts both 11 kW AC and up to 150 kW DC charging inputs, the latter granting 10-80% recharges in about 31 minutes.

More specifically, Hertz Malaysia will offer the BMW iX xDrive40 variant for clients to rent.
“This time around, we are leveraging the opportunity to give Malaysians a chance to try our BMW iX for unmatched style and uniqueness that is aligned with the latest trends in EV technology,” said Vi Thim Juan, Auto Bavaria’s managing director.
Ther exec also further highlights Auto Bavaria’s commitment towards pioneering the utilisation of EV in Malaysia. On said note, he added that this latest partnership with Hertz sees the leading BMW dealers creating a robust ecosystem that further supports the growing EV adoption in Malaysia.
