Chery Omoda E5 Price Confirmed - RM146,800

The Chery Omoda E5 EV crossover SUV officially launched itself earlier today at RM146,800.
Those waiting for Chery Malaysia to officially price its first all-electric (EV) offering, the Chery Omoda E5, can now rest easy. Earlier today, the Chinese automaker officially launched the model and revealed its official price – things starts at RM146,800.
Present at the model’s launch earlier today were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, China’s ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing, as well as Chery Malaysia Executive Vice President Leo Chen.

Present to launch the Omoda E5 earlier today was Deputy Prime Minister YAB Datuk Seri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof.

Four paintjob options plus two interior colourway choices were announced too.
We’ve detailed this compact EV crossover SUV at length since it was first previewed late last year, and more recently when we took an early look at it in a showroom. Bookings were also opened as soon as the Omoda E5 entered showrooms late last month.
As a refresher, the Omoda E5 is based on the existing combustion (ICE)-powered Omoda 5 crossover SUV model, boasting a number of EV-specific styling and aesthetic tweaks – shuttered grille, added charging port, and a lightly revised cabin.

Unlike the Omoda 5, the Omoda E5 boast slightly different aesthetics. It also features a front-mounted charging port that accepts 9.9 kW AC or up to 80 kW DC charging inputs.
Underneath, the Omoda E5 swaps from the Omoda 5’s 1.5-litre 4-cyl petrol mill for a front-mounted e-motor rated at 201 HP and 340 NM driving its front wheels. Said e-motor is juiced by a BYD-sourced 61 kWh ‘Blade’ LFP-type battery pack, boasting a respectable 0-100 KM/H sprint time of 7.6 seconds.
Crucially, with each full charge, the Omoda E5 has a claimed maximum WLTP range of up to 430 KM. As for charging, said battery accepts up to 9.9 kW AC or up to 80 kW DC charging inputs. The latter charging method sees 30-80% recharges attained in just 30 minutes.
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function is also present here, delivering up to 3.3 kW of energy to any small electrical appliances.

On board, the Omoda E5's kit list is fairly rich as it includes a sleuth of ADAS features, panoramic sunroof, dual digital displays, and more.
Key pieces of equipment present on board include the dual-screen setup featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, and a multi-colour ambient lighting system, to name a few.
As for safety, the Omoda E5 comes standard with a 360-degree plus 540-degree reverse camera views, automatic high beam, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), as well as a slew of ADAS features.
Included in the latter are functions like lead vehicle departure alert (LVDA), front collision warning (FCW), autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane departure warning (LDW), lane keep assist (LKA), rear cross traffic alert (RCTA), and more.

Besides price, Chery Malaysia also announced the comprehensive after-sales coverage plus a special early-bird promotion scheme, the latter limited to the first 2,000 customers.
Following today’s official price announcement, Chery Malaysia also detailed the Omoda E5’s after-sales package. Included in the price mentioned is a 7-year or 150,000 KM vehicle warranty, followed by an 8-year or 160,000 KM EV battery warranty.
Regarding the latter, Chery Malaysia is also offering customers a one-to-one replacement scheme should it find the EV battery health to be less than 70%.
Moreover, Chery Malaysia is offering the first 2,000 customers booking the Chery Omoda E5 with complimentary charging wallbox and V2L adaptor, along with RM1,000 complimentary EVC charging credits.

Notable here is the free charging offer for Omoda E5 customers at all Chery dealership outlets.
Also announced at today’s launch was an exclusive financing scheme for the Omoda E5 offered through partners Maybank that sees interest rates from as low as 2.08%. Adding to which, Omoda E5 owners can also enjoy free charging services at all Chery dealership outlets nationwide.
