TMR11072016_04.jpg Ramadan is set to begin tomorrow, on Tuesday, March 12, as announced. In order to guarantee that drivers have a smooth, safe, and comfortable Ramadan, highway concessionaires have been instructed to make extensive preparations, particularly for peak hours.

PLUS Malaysia said there will be several measures put in place to ensure the smooth operation of highways and toll plazas under the concessionaire .

These include, according to the statement, making sure that all entrance and exit lanes at toll plazas are completely functional and offering support services and mobile toll payment readers.

It further stated that in order to prevent any interference with traffic flow, all maintenance at toll plazas would only be done until 4.30 p.m.

In addition, PLUS plans to increase the number of front-line employees at toll plazas and designate a technical assistance team that will be on call. In order to meet the anticipated high demand, the company will also make sure that all public amenities at rest and relaxation areas are fully operational. 2584386.jpg

To avoid any inconvenience, it advised drivers to make sure their Touch 'n Go card or, for those using RFID, eWallet, has enough money before they set out on their journey.

PLUS reports that peak hour occurs every working day from 5 to 6 p.m., based on data and traffic movement patterns from the previous Ramadan. To improve comfort, it advises all drivers to schedule their travel and steer clear of moving during this hour.
