Launched: Toyota Yaris G Limited – Sporty Tweaks, Just 600 Units, RM99,600 Each

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) just announced the availability of the Toyota Yaris G Limited special. Limited to just 600 units, each come with a host of performance additions.
UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) announced the availability of a limited-special version of its Yaris B-segment hatchback. Called the Toyota Yaris G Limited, just 600 units will be available, each sporting a series of sporty upgrades.
Essentially, you could call this the GR Sport-treated Yaris that some fans have been yearning for. That’s because in G Limited form, the Yaris sees its powertrain gaining both a cold air intake system and a throttle controller, both promising enhanced engine response.
Matching that too is an upgraded chassis that now rides on sport-tuned suspension. A quick check on UMWT’s website also revealed a set of chassis strengthening bars are included. Coupled with an unnamed upgraded performance tyre, these promises enhanced control and agility to match the sportier-responding engine we mentioned earlier.

Performance upgrades laced in the G Limited special include a throttle controller, cold air intake system, sport-tuned suspension, as well as a set of chassis strengthening bars.
Beyond these enhancements, which also includes a distinct full aerokit package, things appear unchanged from the Yaris 1.5 G AT variant that many are familiar with. As a refresher, this B-segment hatch is powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cyl Dual VVT-i petrol mill outputting 107 PS and 140 NM to the front wheels vi a 7-speed CVT auto box.
The top-specced G variant of the Yaris is also laced with the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) package. It consists of several active driver assistance (ADAS) features, namely Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane-Departure Alert (LDA), Blind-spot Monitor (BMS), and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA).
Other notable standard kit include 7 airbags, hill-start assist control (HAC), 3D Panoramic View Monitor (PVM), as well as a 9-inch infotainment display offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Yaris G Limited costs RM99,600 - RM8,000 more than the Yaris 1.5G AT variant it underpins.
As mentioned, just 600 units of the Toyota Yaris G Limited will be available, each tagged at RM99,600 – RM8,000 more than the Yaris 1.5G AT it underpins.
Notably, besides UMWT’s usual 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, the added performance goodies are also covered with a 1-year or 20,000 KM warranty.
Now we pose this question to you: would you prefer this slightly hotter version of the ASEAN-spec Yaris? Or would you prefer the JDM-spec Yaris model that's virtually identical in looks to its manic GR Sport rally-rep twin? Hit the comments below wit your take on things...
