Face-lifted 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross Bows in Thailand

The face-lifted 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross range debuted in Thailand this week, bringing forth mild aesthetic tweaks and upgraded kit, but powertrains remain unchanged.
As expected, the face-lifted 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross officially made its regional ASEAN debut in the Thai market late yesterday. Mechanically, it remains unchanged from before, but its aesthetics has been given a mild refresh whilst its on board list of kit also sees notable upgrades all around.
Visually, the updated 2024MY guise sees all variants now donning new Lexus-like all-LED headlights mirroring those found in the Japanese- and European-market versions, and these now sport sequential signal repeaters. These also get matched with new and all-LED taillights too.
Unique to this ASEAN-spec model is a new front fascia with a slimmer upper grille atop Lexus RX-like of honeycomb perforations. Other notable new additions include a panoramic sunroof primed in higher-end guises, as well as revised 18-inch alloy wheels for all variants.

Aesthetic changes are mild with the exterior, but it does see new Lexus-inspired headlights with sequential signal repeaters and front grille, new taillights, wheels, as well as a panoramic sunroof for higher-end guises.
The speculated switch up to newer 2.0-litre Dynamic Force 4-cyl petrol mills didn’t occur, meaning the model soldiers on with the existing range of 1.8-litre nat-asp and hybrid (HEV) 4-cyl petrol hearts, the latter mated with an electric motor and battery system.
For the Thai market, the revised 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross sees one single ICE-powered variant available alongside three HEV hybrid-powered variants. The former serves as the base-spec guise, whilst the latter sees both a mid- and high-spec flavours, plus as GR Sport trim capping things off.

On board, all variants now get an EPB replacing the old analogue handbrake, as well as an upgraded 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with added wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless charging pad comes in higher-end guises, plus a richer 12.3-inch digital instrument panel.
Moving into the cabin, significant here is the fact that all variants have swapped out their analogue parking brake hardware for a new electronic parking brake (EPB) replacement. Cabin lighting is now all-LED-powered too, whilst higher-end guises also gain a wireless charging pad and kick-sensor function for its powered tailgate.
All variants also receive an upgraded 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen display in the dash that now offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Adding to which, higher-end guises also gain a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel that boasts richer interactivity.

The full TSS ADAS suite is primed in the the mid-spec HEV Premium variant onwards. The higher two guises above which sees this suite bolstered with an added parking brake support functionality too.

Unlike Malaysia, the Thai market sees the sporty GR Sport trim offered with HEV hybrid power. It also serves as the range-topper for the model in said Kingdom.
As for active safety, the base-spec petrol-powered variant for the Thai market – 1.8 Sport Plus – gets both a blind-spot monitor (BSM) and rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA) primed as standard kit. Aptly, this entry-level guise doesn’t benefit with the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) ADAS suite in full.
Instead, the latter suite is primed in the mid-spec HEV Premium, higher-spec HEV Premium Luxury, and range-topping HEV GR Sport guises instead. Specifically for the two higher end trimlines, said ADAS suite is bolstered with the addition of parking support brake functionality too.
With the Thai market being the first to see this updated model go on sale in the region, UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) is expected to perform a similar refresh for the local Malaysian market version of the Corolla Cross. However, the timeline for which remains unclear for the moment.
