Chery Auto Malaysia Reaches 10,000 CKD Units Milestone
Chery Auto Malaysia (Chery Malaysia) has successfully rolled out its 10,000th vehicle since fostering its partnership just eight months ago with Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd.
Currently, the brand’s local assembly (CKD) operations are performed at Inokom's advanced 200-acre facility in Kulim, Kedah. The speed of this roll-out highlights Chery Malaysia's dedication to growth and excellence in the Malaysian automotive space.
The collaboration between Chery Malaysia and Inokom Corporation which was formalised in May 2023, had led to its first locally assembled models, the Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro meeting delivery targets by Aug of the same year. Additionally, the assembly of the soon-to-be-launched Tiggo 7 Pro has also begun at the plant while the all-electric Omoda E5 is slated to join the line soon.
In order to meet the increasing demand and capitalise on positive market reception, Chery Malaysia is poised to enhance operations with the introduction of a second assembly line at the Inokom facility. This expansion aims to boost production capacity, improve efficiency, while upholding the highest quality control standards for its products and services.
Leo Chen, President of Chery Auto Malaysia alongside Andrew Basham, Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors, recently inaugurated the new production line in Kulim, Kedah..
During the event, Chen noted that Chery Auto Malaysia focuses on delivering safe, reliable products to our customers. He further said that the collaboration with Inokom has been an exhilarating journey and expressed hopes for the partnership to remain strong as Chery Auto Malaysia continues offering the best driving and ownership experience to its customers.
