Mitsubishi Xpander Continues To Lead MMM’s 2023 Sales

The Mitsubishi Xpander at the Xpander Venture experience roadshow held by MMM last year.
Earlier this week, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) revealed its 2023 sales figures and, unsurprisingly, the firm once again sees both its Xpander and Triton models lead their charge in the local market.
Firstly, MMM highlights that 11,384 units of its Xpander crossover-styled MPV were shifted throughout 2023. Said figure allowed the Xpander to retain its position as Malaysia’s leading non-national MPV offering for yet another year, outselling the brand’s core Triton pick-up truck model here too.
“This achievement is a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles that resonate with the needs and preferences of Malaysian customers. The No. 1 spot also highlights that the Xpander is the preferred choice among Malaysian families seeking a versatile MPV,” said Shinya Ikeda, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.

MMM notes that it shifted 11,384 units of the Xpander in Malaysia throughout 2023, with said figure seeing the crossover-styled MPV retaining its status as Malaysia's leading non-national MPV offering.

As for the Triton, MMM saw the outgoing second-gen model (left) shifted 8,636 units in 2023. A new third-generation replacement (right) is expected to debut locally this year too.
As for the Triton, MMM notes that 8,636 units of the current second-generation pick-up truck model were sold in 2023. Earlier this year, MMM released yet another special edition variant of the soon-to-be-replaced pick-up truck offering - the AT Premium - priced at RM135,900. A new third-generation model is expected to debut in Malaysia sometime this year.
With the sales figures of both models combined, Ikeda adds that MMM still stands amongst the top three non-national brands in Malaysia. “We are excited to keep moving forward and appreciate all our customers for their faithful support of the Mitsubishi brand,” adds the exec further. KR
