Stellantis Malaysia Delivers First Batch Of Peugeot 408 To Owners

First batch of Peugeot 408 delivered to owners during the recent Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (MAS 2024).
Stellantis Malaysia has delivered the first batch of its new and locally built (CKD) Peugeot 408 fastback crossover offering to customers. Said first batch consisted of 10 units, and all but one were handed over to customers at the recent Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (MAS 2024).
As a refresher, Stellantis Malaysia had opened up the order books for the Peugeot 408 since mid-April ahead of its late-April launch. Three variants were announced, all sharing the same powertrain packages, and each is separated by the level and amount of luxuries and features primed on board.

Of the first 10 unit delivered, nine of where here handed over to owners who had placed early bookings in Mid-April.
As for price, the first new offering to debut under the new Stellantis Malaysia banner commands RM146,055 (Allure), RM166,055 (Premium), and RM196,055 (GT). You can find out more details about this stylish French fastback crossover in our launch report by clicking these blue words…
Since its launch, Stellantis Malaysia notes that the new Peugeot 408 has generated over 300 bookings nationwide. From which, the firm notes that 60% of bookings placed were for the range-topping GT variant.

Also delivered from the first batch was one unit for the French Embassy in Malaysia. The fastback crossover now serves as the official vehicle for HE Axel Cruau, French Ambassador to Malaysia.
Besides the nine owners who took delivery at MAS 2024, the sole exception from this first batch was one unit that Stellantis Malaysia delivered to His Excellency Axel Cruau, French Ambassador to Malaysia.
Cruau, who was also present for the model’s launch earlier this year, has appointed the new Peugeot 408 as the official embassy vehicle. Given the French consulate’s history of using notable French marques in this role, Cruau’s choice was perhaps a fitting reflection of which.

Launched at MAS 2024 was the enhanced and now localised (CKD) Peugeot Landtrek 4x4 pick-up truck.

At MAS 2024, Stellantis Malaysia also previewed its upcoming Leapmotor EV brand. At the same time, it also teased the familiar Citroën marque.
On top of delivering the first batch of new 408 models, Stellantis Malaysia also made a splash at the recent MAS 2024 exposition mentioned. Here, the firm also launched the newly enhanced and now localised (CKD) Peugeot Landtrek pick-up truck range at its show booth.
The firm also elected to preview its new Leapmotor marque that’s set to launch locally later this year. At its show booth, Stellantis Malaysia also teased the familiar Citroën marque, thus indicating the firm’s intent at rebooting this brand locally too.
