Launched: 2025 Leapmotor C10 - Lower RM125K Price Tag, Upgraded 11 kW AC Charging

The Leapmotor C10 had a slow start in Malaysia, with only 13 units sold in May, 8 in April, and 18 in March. In a market crowded with various electric vehicle (EV) options and increasingly discerning buyers, the C10 is clearly struggling to gain traction.
This underwhelming local performance stands in stark contrast to Leapmotor’s success in China, where the brand has sold an impressive 173,658 vehicles between Jan and May 2025. That figure cements its position as China’s fastest-growing EV brand and the leading New Energy Vehicle (NEV) startup of the past decade.

In an effort to reverse its fortunes in Malaysia, Leapmotor is banking on the updated 2025 C10, now offered at a significantly reduced price of RM125,000 — down from its original RM159,000 launch price. That’s a substantial RM34,000 markdown, which could make the C10 an attractive proposition in its segment.
The refreshed 2025 model also brings several practical upgrades. A newly added 32-litre ‘frunk’ increases storage capacity, while a boot tonneau cover offers added cargo security. More importantly, the AC charging speed has been beefed up with an upgraded on-board charger (OBC), now rated at 11 kW (up from 6.6 kW) - cuts 30% to 80% AC charging time from six hours to just four.

For added safety and convenience, the C10 now also features a Direct Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with real-time data, as well as a motorised tyre inflator kit.
Inside the cabin, subtle updates enhance the overall aesthetic. Exterior colours like Pearly White, Canopy Grey, and Tundra Grey now come with a Black interior (replacing the previous Midnight Aurora), while Glazed Green models will see the Criollo Brown interior swapped for a new Camel Brown finish.

Under the skin, the C10 retains its 69.9 kWh Lithium-Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery paired with a 214 HP electric motor, delivering up to 424 KM of range (WLTP). One of the C10’s unique selling point is its driving dynamics - fine-tuned with input from Maserati, offering a refined experience on the road.
Warranty coverage is retained - 6-year/150,000 KM vehicle warranty and an 8-year or 160,000 KM battery warranty.

Now whether these updates will be enough to boost the C10’s appeal in Malaysia remains to be seen. For now, the sales numbers speak for themselves, and the road ahead is undoubtedly challenging.
With that, there’s no denying that the Leapmotor C10 is a compelling D-segment EV SUV - especially at a C-segment price.
