Want to own a Tesla Model Y with an unbeatable financing rate? Don't want to wait months for one? Don’t mind forking out a larger downpayment? Well, then this pis your chance, then.
After recently following the global Tesla trend and cutting prices on practically its whole range of offering by RM8,000, Tesla Malaysia announced a special 0.78% interest rate offer made possible through their preferred financiers, which are most likely Maybank or Ambank.

Before you get too enthusiastic, there is a catch to their promotion: buyers must make a 20% downpayment, and the loan term is fixed at five years. Wait, there's more: this promotion is only valid for the Tesla Model Y RWD (Rear Wheel Drive), and buyers can only select cars that are currently in Tesla Malaysia's inventory that have not been spoken for.
A quick check on Tesla Malaysia's inventory site show sixteen (16) units of Tesla Model Y RWD in various specifications available, most likely units that were booked and later cancelled by buyers who either changed their mind and cancelled their order or opted for the Model 3 instead.

If you're wondering, the Model Y which is capable of 455 KM range (WLTP), are brand new units manufactured in 2024. For those who aren't picky, this deal will save you quite a bit.

Lets assume you’re selecting a basic Model Y through the car configurator, which will cost you RM191,000. At the current Maybank interest rate of 1.98% for 5 years with a 10% downpayment, you would pay RM3,148 each month in instalments.

If you choose Tesla Malaysia's low interest rate option, your instalment after the 20% downpayment will be RM2,656. When comparing both instalments over 5 years, choosing the Tesla 0.78% interest rate package would save you RM10,420 at the end of the tenure.
Well, should you be interested, you have to act quickly as this offer expires on June 30, and there are only 16 units of the Model Y RWD in stock with varied configurations.
