The all-new Neta S Hunting Edition has been unveiled in China as a sleek station wagon.

Chinese automaker Neta has unveiled the first official images of its upcoming sleek station wagon, known as the Neta S Hunting Edition. Essentially a long-roofed version of the Neta S sporty saloon, this sleek and sporty wagon comes in both battery EV (BEV) and range-extender EV (REEV) powertrain flavours, and is slated to hit the Chinese market later in September.

From the get-go, you’ll notice that the Neta S wagon comes with a similar front face to its saloon twin, featuring dual-stack LED headlights with slim LED DRLs sitting on top, plus an enclosed front grille with a gaping air intake placed below it. Beyond the A-pillars, however, the wagon bears no resemblance to its saloon counterpart, as it comes with an extended roofline that goes all the way to the tailgate.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Neta S Hunting Edition will get the same butterfly-style front doors as its saloon twin. Besides the mysterious door configuration, this EV wagon also comes with flushed door handles for better aerodynamics while riding on 20-inch alloy wheels.

What’s unique about the Neta S wagon’s roof is that it comes with a unique panoramic heat-insulating glass roof that boasts 99.99% UV isolation and 87.5% heat isolation, plus an optional roof lidar that hints at a high level of semi-autonomous driving capabilities.

Dimension-wise, the Neta S Hunting Edition sits 4,980 MM long, 1,980 MM wide, 1,480 MM tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,980 MM tall, mirroring its saloon twin while being slightly smaller than the BMW i5 Touring EV wagon.

Thanks to its sub-3-metre wheelbase, the Neta S Hunting Edition boasts a very spacious and elaborate cabin space, featuring tons of comfort and tech amenities. Starting with the former, the wagon’s rear seats can be folded flat to form a flatbed together with the trunk, while its standard 593-litre boot space can be expanded to 1,295 litres.

As for the tech amenities, key pieces of equipment present here include the massive 17.6-inch central infotainment display, an onboard refrigerator, ventilated and heated front seats with massage functions, and many more.

The Neta S Hunting Edition will be available in both BEV and REEV forms.

According to CarNewsChina, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) revealed that the new Neta S Hunting Edition will come in both BEV and REEV versions, with the latter featuring a 1.5-litre range-extender petrol mill that acts as a generator for its single electric motor rated at 268 HP (200 kW). Two battery options will be available for the REEV variant, namely the smaller 31.71-kWh unit and a larger 43.88-kWh one.

As of now, no details were shared by neither Neta nor the MIIT for the BEV variant, except that we can expect it to come in both single-motor and dual-motor versions, rated at 268 HP (200 kW) and 496 HP (370 kW), respectively.

Deliveries for the all-new Neta S Hunting Edition are slated to commence later in Sept this year, with the order books poised to be opened later this month. No price details were given for now, but we can expect the long-roofed Neta S to fetch higher premiums compared to its saloon twin.
