Proton Sees Record July Sales Up 37.3%, Highest Since September 2022
Proton reported July sales of 15,103 units (both domestic and export), up 4.104 units or 37.3% from June 2024's sales of 10,999 units. This is the highest closing figure since September 2022.
With 88,799 units sold in the first half of the year, the brand maintains its solid second-place ranking in the national sales standings. The national carmaker currently projects a 20.5% market share.

This was made possible by Proton Saga sales reaching a record high of 7,885 units, the highest for the model since October 2013.
With 2,585 sales last month, the Proton X50—which was recently updated for 2024—was the brand's second-best performer. Year-to-date (YTD) sales for the SUV stand at 12,789 units. With 1,911 units sold, the Persona achieved its highest sales month of 2024, bringing its year-to-date total to 11,664 units.

In terms of other Proton models, the S70 sold 1,636 units in July, for a total of 12,550 units year to date. The X70 sold 302 units as stocks were depleted in preparation for the launch of the 2025 X70, while the Proton Iriz sold 537 and the X90 sold 277.
"July has been the best sales month for Proton in 2024 so far, setting the tone for what we hope is a productive second half of 2024," said Proton Edar chief executive officer Roslan Abdullah.

"There are many plans to be executed in the coming months, starting with the 2025 Proton X70 which will be launched in August.
"At the same time, the groundwork for the launch of Proton's first electric vehicle (EV) model is also proceeding rapidly, which will lead to the launch of the first Malaysian EV," he added.
