Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur (Quill Motorcars Sdn Bhd) announced the arrival of the updated Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II on local soil earlier today. The model was presented to prospects and invited press in a special showcase held earlier this week at Glasshouse, Seputeh.
This is essentially the current eighth generation flagship coach-doored luxury saloon Phantom model first introduced in 2017 that recently underwent a mid-life update last year. Changes are subtle, but does feature a host of minor visual tweaks.

Exterior changes are subtle, and it takes closer inspection to note the redesigned Pantheon Grille and headlights, the latter boasting laser-cut bezel starlights now.

also new are is a 'disc' wheel design (left) that hark back to classic luxury coaches from the 1920s. Next to that comes a new stainless steel wheel design with triangular facets available in part or fully polished finishes.
Closer inspection reveals a redesigned illuminated Pantheon Grille featuring a new polished horizontal line that appear as if it’s an extension of the all-LED DRLs. Also all-LED powered are the redesigned headlights that now feature laser-cut bezel starlights.
In this Series II update, the Phantom gets two new wheel options including a plain yet striking ‘disc’ wheel a la classic luxury coaches from the 1920s. New too is a stainless steel wheel design with triangular facets, and this can be had in part or fully polished finishes.
The rest of the Phantom’s bodywork remains unchanged, but prospects can also choose several new exterior trim options that include a darkened chrome grille, black bonnet reins, windscreen surrounds, as well as side frame finishers.

Changes are equally minimal visually on board, but the Phantom Series II does gain a new and thicker-sized steering wheel. It also gains greater connectivity through the "Rolls-Royce Connected" suite and Whispers smartphone app.
Rolls-Royce notes that much of the exterior design tweaks and newly added design options inside and out were borne from customer feedback. Resulting from which too are demands for a new and thicker-sized steering wheel design, which the Phantom Series II now possesses.
Another key update lies in connected tech on board, specifically through the “Rolls-Royce Connected” feature. Said tech now sees seamless integration with the exclusive Whispers app available on both iOS and Android, albeit via personal invitation.
It now allow users to send destination addresses to the built-in navigation from their smartphones. At the same time, the app is now able to display the location and status of the vehicle on the user’s smartphone too.
Apart from these, little else has changed with the eighth-gen Phantom in all other areas. Mechanically, it continues to harness Rolls-Royce’s signature 6.75-litre V12 twin-turbo heart that outputs 563 HP and 900 NM.

The unit displayed by RRMCKL this week wore a single-tone Tempest Grey paintwork and rolled on what appeared to be optional 22-inch forged alloy wheels with a fully polished finish.
For reference, the Phantom Series II showcased by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur earlier this week came dressed in single-tone Tempest Grey exterior paintwork whilst rolling on what appears to be optional 22-inch fully polished forged alloy wheels.
On board, said display unit’s cabin featured a monotone Artic White leather upholstery with Peony Pink pipe-stitching with contrasting black inserts. It is also furnished with a carbon fibre-esque ‘Technical Fibre’ décor insert option in its dash – or ‘The Gallery’, as Rolls-Royce calls it.
Other notable options featured in said unit include Rolls-Royce’s signature ‘Shooting Star’ headliner powered by a myriad of LEDs, as well as the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Audio setup featuring a total of 18 speakers outputting up to 1,300 watts.

Present in RRMCKL's display unit too were tasty options such as the 'Technical Fibre' insert in The Gallery (dash), LED-powered 'Shooting Star' headliner, and a monotone Artic White interior upholstery with Peony Pink pipe-stitching.
Like before, the Phantom Series II can be commissioned in either standard or Extended wheelbase forms. Typically with Rolls-Royce, if you actually had to ask “how much?”, then you’re unfortunately one who cannot afford to commission one yourself.
Nevertheless, to sate your curiosity, we asked nicely and we were informed things start from RM2.5 million for the standard wheelbase, and from RM2.9 million for the Extended wheelbase. Mind you, these figures EXCLUDE customisation options, duties, taxes, and final on-road costs.
Realistically, you’d best triple either figures to get a ballpark price for one, and this also greatly depends on how much bespoke customisation options you opt for. Check out more images of the updated Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II in the extensive gallery prepared below.
