MOT Scraps Oct 10 MyJPJ’s MyDigital ID Login Deadline
![]()
In a significant “U-Turn”, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that the Oct 10 deadline for MyJPJ users to log in exclusively with MyDigital ID has been scrapped.
This decision comes after an influx of complaints from users who struggled with the registration process.
Loke addressed the issue, stating that the pop-up notification regarding the deadline has been removed from the MyJPJ app, and backend integration between the two systems will now take precedence. "The Oct 10 date is cancelled. The priority is ensuring a seamless integration between MyJPJ and MyDigital ID, making it easier for users," he said.

As previously highlighted at Carz.com.my, many users - ourselves included - encountered roadblocks while trying to register for MyDigital ID. Issues ranged from system hangs during the identity verification process to delays in completing registration, leading to widespread frustration.
With over 105 million MyJPJ users — some being very active — Loke acknowledged that a smooth integration will take time. He emphasised that users should continue accessing the MyJPJ app as usual, with no immediate deadline in place.

Perhaps most concerning, Loke revealed that the pop-up alert had been added to the app without consultation with the Transport Ministry clearly indicating the lack of interdepartmental communication and consultation. He clarified that the Road Transport Department (JPJ) had not issued an official statement about the supposed deadline.
Loke assured users that the integration process between MyJPJ and MyDigital ID will be carefully monitored to ensure security and efficiency. “We will make announcements from time to time to keep the public informed, but for now, there is no set deadline for this integration," he said.

The initial panic was sparked by an app update advising users to register with MyDigital ID before October 10 to avoid sign-in difficulties. This prompted many to take to social media, expressing frustration over how long it took to register with MyDigital ID, an issue we also faced during our review.
At Carz.com.my, we previously questioned why MyJPJ was moving towards a single sign-on system without offering users the option to log in using their current credentials, similar to the dual sign-on system of the MySejahtera app.
While the decision to cancel the deadline is a relief, the ministry must ensure that any future changes prioritise user convenience and avoid disruptions—especially as the app has become the primary means of accessing digital road tax and licence information.
