MyDigital ID Now Mandatory For MyBayar PDRM Access
From Oct 1, Malaysians can only log in to the MyBayar PDRM app using MyDigital ID, the national digital identity platform announced yesterday.
Foreigners, companies and agencies are not affected by the change and may continue signing in with their usual credentials.
Through the app, users can view and settle police summonses or purchase accident investigation documents without visiting a counter.
The update is part of a wider plan to standardise access to government digital services. In August, MyDigital ID confirmed that both MyBayar PDRM and the MyJPJ app would adopt the platform.
“MyDigital ID as a Single Login promises a new era of digital identity verification that is simpler, safer, and more transparent
We are committed to ensuring every user enjoys maximum convenience with the highest level of security, while accelerating the nation’s digital transformation in an inclusive and resilient manner,” said CEO Nik Hisham Nik Ibrahim in an earlier statement.
The initiative was first raised by the Home Ministry in April and has since received Cabinet support, including amendments to the National Registration Act 1959 to allow wider use.
While MyJPJ is also slated for integration, Transport Minister Anthony Loke has clarified that MyDigital ID is not yet required for its login.

Introduced in November 2023, MyDigital ID is overseen by Mimos under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. It serves as a national authentication tool to replace multiple logins with a single, secure identity across platforms.
Beyond government use, banks and private-sector services are also expected to adopt the system.
However, uptake has been modest with only 2.8 million Malaysians having registered by mid-2024, sparking debate on whether sign-ups should eventually be made compulsory.

Registration is available via the MyDigital ID app or through kiosks at selected locations nationwide.
