Perodua Signs MOU with MyDigital ID For Secure User Access

Perodua President and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin (second from left) overseeing the MOU signing between the automaker and My Digital ID Sdn Bhd (MyDigital ID) recently.
Local automaker Perodua revealed earlier today via press release that it recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with My Digital ID Sdn Bhd, or better known as MyDigital ID.
For the uninitiated, MyDigital ID is a secured and trusted National Digital Identity Initiative. It was developed to provide Malaysians with seamless and safe access to both government and private digital services with a central focus on security and privacy.
“This collaboration is the first of its kind for the country’s automotive industry as MyDigital ID being the country’s gatekeeper for authentication transactions enables us to further diversify our services to our customers specifically, and to all Malaysians in general,” said Perodua President and CEO Datuk Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
"This strategic collaboration with Perodua demonstrates the importance of digital identity towards accelerating digital transformation within the automotive industry," added Mohd Azuddin Parman, COO of MyDigital ID, further.

The agreement sees Perodua acquire secure user authentication access from MyDigital ID, adding to its bid towards improving cashless transactions for customers.
The agreement sees MyDigital ID provide Perodua with secure user authentication access, thus adding to its bid at improving cashless transactions for customers. The authentication process is a secured starting point to ensure all users are safeguarded by the country’s cyber security experts.
This MOU with MyDigital ID is the latest in a series of new partnerships established by Perodua over the last six months with several local bodies that also include Petronas (Gentari), Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), and Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM).
“These other partnerships will offer a world of products and services to our future customers and we want our customers to be as safe as possible,” adds Datuk Sri Zainal.
The exec also noted that the MOU reflects Perodua’s support of the government’s call for a more cashless society for convenience through leveraging the robust cybersecurity features that MyDigital ID provides.
