MyJPJ Will Require MyDigital ID Login Starting Feb 2026

Malaysia’s Road Transport Department (JPJ) in its effort to accelerate the country’s digital transformation by making MyDigital ID the mandatory single-login method for the MyJPJ app starting Feb 1 2026 for all Malaysians aged 18 and above.
The move is designed to simplify and secure digital verification, replacing traditional username-and-password logins with a unified national digital identity system. JPJ said the transition will make authentication faster, safer and more transparent for millions of users.

Citizens below 18 and MyPR holders will continue using the existing login pathway, which requires entering their 12-digit MyKAD or MyPR number along with the current password. This reflects MyDigital ID’s rollout structure, which initially targets adults.
JPJ also highlighted that new MyJPJ account registrations must now be completed through MyDigital ID. This is intended to curb fake accounts and prevent unauthorised access within MyJPJ’s ecosystem.

To date, 13 million Malaysians already have a registered MyJPJ account. Of this number, 1.3 million have begun using MyDigital ID to log in, while the remaining 11 million are required to undergo the pre-registration facial verification process to activate MyDigital ID as their primary login method.
MyDigital ID is a government-backed digital identification platform that verifies a user’s identity directly through the National Registration Department (JPN). JPJ emphasised that the system does not store personal data within the app itself, and aims to elevate security while ensuring smoother digital transactions across different government services.
The department urges all MyJPJ users to activate and configure their MyDigital ID credentials as early as possible to ensure a seamless transition when the single-login requirement takes effect.
