BMW Group Malaysia Has Delivered Over 8,700 Vehicles Thus Far
BMW Group Malaysia revealed today that it is charting a positive trajectory in its local market performance for 2024.
Despite dwindling global profits due to slowed sales in China, it appears things are on the up for BMW Group here in Malaysia. Earlier today, BMW Group Malaysia revealed that it continues to lead the charge both in the premium cars and premium EVs marketspace.
Firstly, the firm revealed that it closed the third quarter (Q3) by successfully shifting over 8,700 vehicles across both its main BMW and MINI brands. Included here were no less than 1,600 fully electric (EV) models, which represents over 19% of said total deliveries.
By end of Q3 this year, BMW Group Malaysia has shifted over 8,700 BMW and MINI-branded vehicles, and 1,600 units - or over 19% - of which were EVs
BMW Group Malaysia credits its “Technology Openness” approach as the key driver here. “With every new, premium vehicle we introduce locally, our focus remains on giving our customers access to advanced technologies and the best in performance, design, and sustainability,” says Benjamin Nagel, MD of BMW Group Malaysia.
Evident of which were the slew of new metal introduced locally by the firm this year. Highlights include the new generation MINI Cooper 3-Door and 5-Door hatches, Countryman and Aceman trio, the eighth-gen and localised 5 Series in 520i guise, a new addition to its all-electric i5 twin in the form of the i5 M60 performance range-topper, the BMW iX2, and more.
The firm also saw a slew of new metal launched under both its BMW and MINI brands throughout the year.
Products aside, BMW Group Malaysia also highlighted its efforts supporting the development and growth of the local EV charging infrastructure. The firm has established over 2,020 EV charging facilities nationwide through strategic partnerships with various local charging point operators (CPOs).
Whilst on EV charging still, the firm also pointed out that it now has over 100 BMW i and MINI-branded EV charging facilities present nationwide across most of its authorised dealerships, as well as at partnering venues, and the firm adds there’s more to come.
On the EV charging front, BMW Group Malaysia has established over 2,020 facilities nationwide including over 100 BMW i and MINI-branded facilities across most of its authorised dealerships and partnering venues.
Bolstering the group’s efforts with EVs too are its strategic involvement in key events and collaborations. Highlights of which include its i7 airport terminal limo transfer fleet with Malaysia Airlines, followed by EV fleet support for the recent World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC) 2024, and sporting events like the annual Maybank Championship 2024.
Altogether, BMW Group Malaysia also emphasised that this level of performance and local investment stands as a reflection of its stance in navigating a complex market landscape. Key to this is its long-term, technology-open approach that’s poised to ensure stability without risking short-term overhauls.
