Bolt Obtains Licence From APAD To Operate In Malaysia
The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) has granted a license to Estonian e-hailing company Bolt to operate in Malaysia, according to the agency's website, as reported by Lowyat.com.
After the e-hailing company hinted at its expansion in March by posting a job listing for a country manager, there is now a notification on the Bolt app itself indicating a launch is imminent.
At the moment, Bolt has operations across over 50 countries but Thailand is the only location in Southeast Asia where it is currently present. Malaysia is therefore expected to join the company's expansion as the second market in the region.

Regarding services, the platform's website lists its standard e-hailing service for Kuala Lumpur, food delivery, groceries delivery, car sharing, micromobility vehicle rentals as well as business travel.
