Honda Prelude Concept Display At KLIMS 2024 Confirmed
Honda Malaysia has announced that the Honda Prelude concept will make its Malaysian debut at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024.
Adding to the excitement, Honda Malaysia’s President and COO, Sarly Adle Sarkum, shared a cryptic yet enticing post on LinkedIn. Writing in Bahasa Malaysia, he teased, “Kalau dah sampai Malaysia maknanya...” (which loosely translates to “If it’s already in Malaysia, it means…”), sparking speculation that the Prelude might eventually hit Malaysian showrooms.
First introduced in 1978, the Honda Prelude set itself apart as a premium front-wheel-drive sporty coupe, distinct from the more hardcore Integra. Known for its dynamic handling and innovative features, the Prelude enjoyed five successful generations before being discontinued in 2001.
Fast forward to 2024, the new Prelude concept reimagines this iconic nameplate with a sleek, aerodynamic design that combines classic coupe proportions with futuristic elements. Beneath its stylish exterior lies a hybrid powertrain, signalling Honda’s commitment to electrification. While technical details remain under wraps, the Prelude concept promises to deliver a driving experience that blends performance with efficiency.
The Prelude concept is expected to offer a premium, minimalist cabin inspired by the driver-focused layout of the current FL5 Civic Type R. With cutting-edge technology and thoughtful design, it aims to enhance comfort and connectivity for modern driving enthusiasts, making it a true testament to Honda’s innovation.
After a six-year hiatus, KLIMS 2024 is shaping up to be a must-visit event for automotive fans. Alongside the Honda Prelude concept, attendees can expect exciting new model launches from brands like Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, Kia, GWM, and MG. Additionally, the highly anticipated Perodua EV could also make its debut, adding to the event’s allure.
