RM9.1 million in traffic summonses were paid during the "Program Dua Tahun Kerajaan Madani" event.
Following the 60% discount offered during the "Program Dua Tahun Kerajaan Madani" event, approximately RM9.1 million in traffic summonses were paid, settling 103,590 summonses in total, according to Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, director of the Bukit Aman traffic investigation and enforcement department.
Yusri stated that the top three offences were speeding, ignoring traffic signals and illegal parking.
PDRM is also looking into the idea of offering discounts on traffic summonses across the country through cashless payment via the MyBayar PDRM app and web portal, Yusri added.
He also stated that the department did not set a target number of summonses to be paid during the event.
“Thus, we were heartened by the presence of 32,500 visitors who visited our booth to settle their summonses. Our priority is not the amount collected, but the number of overdue summonses that have been settled. The huge number of people who came showed the awareness among the public,” he said.
