Launched: MG Cyberster EV From RM319,900

Following its August preview by SAIC Motor Malaysia, the MG Cyberster EV is another eagerly anticipated vehicle that was launched today at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2024 (KLIMS 2024).
The Cyberster goes for RM319,900 on the road without insurance and is currently only available in one all-wheel-drive version. This figure includes a seven-year/150,000-kilometre guarantee and an eight-year/180,000-kilometre battery warranty.

For the Malaysian market, the Cyberster will be available in a single top-spec configuration with a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) arrangement capable of producing up to 544 PS (400 kW) and 725 NM of torque. This setup allows the small EV roadster to accelerate from 0 to 100 KM/H in just 3.2 seconds, en route to its electronically regulated V-Max of 201 km/h.
The MG Cyberster AWD is powered by a large 77-kWh battery pack that provides up to 446 KM of WLTP range. This pack supports both AC 7 kW and DC 150 kW charging methods, with the former completing a 10-100% charge in approximately 10.5 hours and the latter obtaining a 10-80% state-of-charge in only 38 minutes.

The Cyberster's shark-nose front end, almond-shaped LED headlamps, and split lower air intake make it an appealing vehicle from the outside. With minimal side decoration, attention is first directed to the angular front fender line that extends into the doors, and then continues up onto the back haunches.
It comes in four vibrant colours: English White, Inca Yellow, Camden Grey, and Dynamic Red. Inca Yellow and English White have grey interiors, whereas Dynamic Red and Camden Grey have black and red interiors.

Inside, you'll find a cockpit-like cabin that encircles the driver. It comes in two colour schemes: black and red or grey and white. The 10.25-inch digital instrument display and two additional seven-inch touchscreens for infotainment and vehicle controls, however, are unquestionably the centrepiece of the bank of screens.
The safety specs are also reasonably good as the EV roadster comes standard with the MG Pilot active safety system suite, which adds ADAS functions like Front Collision Warning (FCW) and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) (with pedestrian and bicycle detection), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Traffic Jam Assistance (TJA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Intelligent High Beam Assist.
All MG Cyberster will come with a 7-year/150,000KM Vehicle Warranty, 8-year/180,000KM Battery Warranty, 8-year/160,000KM Motor Warranty, 1-year unlimited charging with JomCharge plus a FREE 7kW Home Wallbox.
