Silently making its first public appearance at KLIMS 2024 is the new Peugeot e-3008 all-electric SUV crossover.

Silently making its first public appearance at the ongoing Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2024 (KLIMS 2024) is the new Peugeot e-3008. Based on the third-gen (codenamed P64) Peugeot 3008, this all-electric SUV crossover is the first Peugeot model to underpin Stellantis’ new STLA Medium platform.

Unlike other shared vehicle platforms, the STLA Medium platform is developed for EVs first before ICE-powered cars, and as a result, the e-3008 gets pretty decent battery and powertrain specs.

For starters, the base e-3008 Electric 210 variant is juiced by a 73-kWh NMC battery pack with a 400-volt architecture, granting it up to 525 KM of EV range. Power is provided by a single motor setup rated at 210 PS (157 kW) and 343 NM, allowing it to reach 100 KM/H in a fairly leisurely 8.7 seconds.

Moving on to the e-3008 Electric 320, this dual-motor AWD variant gets the same 73-kWh NMC pack that juices its peppier powertrain setup rated at 320 PS (240 kW), allowing a faster century sprint time of 6.4 seconds, while its maximum EV range is the same as the baseline model at 525 KM.

For longer travel range, there’s also the Electric 230 variant that uses a larger 98-kWh NMC battery pack to juice its 230 PS-rated (170 kW) electric motor for up to 700 KM of EV range. Due to its larger battery pack, century sprint time is reduced to 8.9 seconds, despite its slightly peppier motor setup than the baseline Electric 210 variant.

Charging-wise, the e-3008 supports both AC 11 kW and DC 160 kW charging methods, with the latter seeing a 20-80% charge to be completed in 30 minutes. Not to forget, an AC 22 kW charger is also available as an option.

The specific e-3008 model displayed at Stellantis Malaysia’s booth for KLIMS 2024 is the GT trim version, which comes with a slew of sporty touches that further elevate the styling level of this already stylish SUV crossover. Key design features include the 20-inch ‘Monolith’ alloy wheels (same as the Peugeot 408), distinctive claw-like LED DRLs at the front, a slew of silver and gloss black-hued accents, and many more.

The GT trim treatment goes on the inside of the e-3008, as the EV SUV gets Peugeot’s latest Panoramic i-Cockpit with an expansive 21-inch curved touchscreen, as well as GT-specific front seats. Other key features present here include the ten touch-sensitive customisable buttons for the infotainment screen, a panoramic sunroof, a Focal audio premium sound system, and many more.

And just like many other upcoming models previewed at KLIMS 2024, the Peugeot e-3008’s appearance at the motorshow is to gauge the public's interest in this stylish EV SUV crossover. Aside from the e-3008, Stellantis Malaysia also did not discount any possibilities to bring along its ICE-powered siblings, which, unlike the BEV version that is exclusively assembled at Peugeot’s Sochaux plant, might be locally-assembled (CKD) at the Stellantis Gurun plant in Kedah.
