Malaysian Vendor Gain Access To Chery’s Global Supply Chain
Chery Corporate Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. together with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) recently organised the Chery Premier Supply Chain Programme which was set to connect Malaysian automotive vendors with Chery’s global technology hub from the 2 to 5 Dec.
The four day event which was held in Chery’s headquarters in Wuhu, China was attended by over 100 industry leaders, including 40 Malaysian vendors, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) and the Malaysia Automotive Robotics & IoT Institute (MARii).
Participants at the event had the opportunity to explore Chery’s advanced manufacturing facilities and gain insights into their technical expertise.
MIDA CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim emphasized the programme’s role in transforming Malaysia’s automotive industry, providing vendors access to cutting-edge technology, and supporting next-generation vehicle (NxGV) development.
He further highlighted MIDA’s dedication to fostering high-value partnerships to position Malaysia as a global automotive player.
Leo Chen, Executive VP of Chery Corporate Malaysia, stated that the initiative underscores Chery’s commitment to building an inclusive supply chain. 'By collaborating with Malaysian vendors, we aim to drive innovation, sustainability, and economic growth through the adoption of Chery’s global standards,' he said.
The Chery Premier Supply Chain Programme also aligns with the objectives outlined in Malaysia’s National Automotive Policy (NAP) which promotes NxGV local vendor development incorporating Industry 4.0 practices to meet the rising demand for electrification and smart mobility solutions.
