Launched: 2025 Volvo EX30 CKD - 2 Variants Now, From RM208,888

Fully imported (CBU) 2024MY Volvo EX30 launched back in Sept pictured. VCM announced earlier today that orders are now opened for the localised (CKD) version.
Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) officially opened the order books for the locally assembled (CKD) version of its Volvo EX30 premium compact EV crossover offering earlier today.Launched as a fully imported (CBU) offering initially back in Sept, the EX30 now stands as VCM's third locally assembled fully electric car (EV) after the XC40 and X40 Recharge.

Now rolling off VCM's Shah Alam assembly plant, the 2025MY CKD version of the EX30 sees just two variants available - Ultra and Ultra Twin Performance.
The localised EX30 range will be offered as 2025 Model Year (2025MY) offerings across two variants - one less than before. Dropped from the line-up now is the Plus base variant offered previously at just RM188,888.
Instead, the made-in-Shah Alam 2025MY EX30 now sees the Ultra and Ultra Twin Performance guises offered. Prices for both models also remain unchanged at RM208,888 and RM228,888 respectively.

Additionally, the 2025MY CKD version sees just three paint scheme options offered: Cloud Blue, Vapour Grey and Crystal White.
Both guises also see three paintjob options available - Cloud Blue, Vapour Grey, and Crystal White. As for deliveries, this is slated to start from the second week of Jan 2025, says VCM. Notably, this revised CKD version also gained several new features and aesthetic enhancements. It includes an enhanced Pilot Assist semi-autonomous driving suite, 360-degree environmental awareness through multiple cameras enabling Park Pilot Assist, and an infotainment suite powered by Google. For a premium audio experience, the EX30 also boasts a Harman Kardon audio suite.

On board, the EX30's cabin packs loads of tech and luxuries despite its compact footprint. Leading the bill here is its Google-powered infotainment central display screen.
Mechanically, the EX30 Ultra packs a single e-motor setup outputting 272 PS and 343 NM, thus enabling 0-100 KM/H dashes in 5.3 secs. The range-topping Ultra Twin Performance ups the ante with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup outputting 428 PS and 543 NM instead with a quicker 0-100 KM/H sprint time of 3.6 secs.
Both variants share an identical 69 kWh NMC battery pack that promises up to 476 KM (Ultra) and 450 KM (Ultra Twin Performance) of WLTP-rated range. Said pack can also draw up to 175 kW of DC fast charging input, which sees 10-80% re-charge in just 28 minutes.

Specifications remains largely unchanged in the localised EX30 Ultra and Ultra Twin Performance guises.
As for after-sales, the EX30 CKD range also continues to see the inclusion of a 5-year or 100,000 KM maintenance package plus a 5-year 24-hour roadside assistance package.
Those come on top of both a 5 year, unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty and an 8-year of 160,000 KM high-voltage battery warranty. The latter guarantees performance, with free repairs or replacements if capacity falls below 70% within the warranty period.
