Volkswagen Touareg R-Line CKD Price Updated – Now From RM382K

VPCM has updated the price of the Volkswagen Touareg R-Line CKD flagship SUV,  which now retails from RM382,690.

Just under one year since making its local debut, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has updated the price for the locally-assembled (CKD) Volkswagen Touareg R-Line. This price update exercise sees VW’s flagship SUV now slapped with a recommended retail price (RRP) of RM382,690 excluding on-the-road costs and insurance.

Included with said price is the basic warranty package comprising a 2-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty and a 5-year roadside assistance. Opting for the comprehensive Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP) worth RM17,300 adds a 5-year service maintenance, a 5-year unlimited mileage manufacturer warranty, and 5-year roadside assistance.

Given that this is just a mere price update exercise, the 2025 version of the Touareg R-Line CKD still gets the same equipment list as previous year’s model. Included are a slew of R-Line-specific equipment, such as the gloss black-accented bumpers, R-Line emblems, as well as the 20-inch ‘Braga’ alloy wheels the SUV rides on. Not to forget, the Touareg R-Line CKD also features VW’s signature IQ.Light HD matrix LED headlights technology.

On-board equipment also remains unchanged for the 2025 MY Touareg R-Line CKD, as the flagship SUV retains all the equipment primed on the previous year’s model. Included are premium tech and comfort amenities such as the 15-inch Discover Pro Max infotainment screen, the 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster, R-Line Vienna leather seats with ventilated and heated functionalities, the 13-speaker Dynaudio premium audio system, as well as VW’s IQ.Drive suite, to name a few.

Under the hood lies the tried-and-tested 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 TSI petrol mill that outputs 340 PS and 450 NM. Said V6 mill is mated to an 8-speed tiptronic automatic gearbox and VW’s proprietary 4Motion all-wheel drive (AWD) system that grants the Touareg R-Line CKD a decent century sprint time of six seconds and a V-max of 250 KM/H.

Underpinning the same VW Group MLB Evo platform as other premium SUVs such as the Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q8, Bentley Bentayga, and Lamborghini Urus, the Touareg R-Line CKD also gets some decent mechanical bits, including an air suspension system that can lift the SUV for up to 550 MM of wading depth, an automatic limited-slip differential (LSD), and many more.

Still locally-assembled at VPCM’s Pekan plant, the VW Touareg R-Line CKD on-the-road price with VAP included reads at RM402,272, which is RM70,000 cheaper than its original launch price. This price reduction also makes the Touareg one of the cheapest midsize European SUVs in the market, as most of its adversaries are now priced closer to the RM500,000 mark.
