Production-Ready Honda 0 EV Saloon, SUV Duo Revealed
Another automaker making headlines at the on-going Consumer Electronics Show 2025 (CES 2025) in Las Vegas this week is Japanese automaking giant Honda. Here, the H-brand revealed production-ready versions of its all-electric (EV) and radical Honda 0 Series Saloon and SUV models.
Both EVs mark the start of Honda’s electric revolution, and both are set to to go on sale as early as next year (2026). Through these two, Honda hopes it will take it well into the next decade, and both seem to have the tech and ensuing abilities promising which.
Honda 0 Saloon in near production-state. While it loses much of the novelties seen in its initial concept, it remains strikingly wedgy with its stance.
Kicking off with the 0 Saloon and, unlike the initial development concept shown during CES 2024, much of the fanciful design cues have been dispensed. This includes swapping the gullwing doors for traditional ones, as well as a switch to vertical headlights with a sliding cover.
Additionally, the recessed display in the nose has been omitted too for slatted air intakes in its place. Notable too is the added Lidar sensor added on the roof. Apart from these changes, little has changed from the original concept, and the 0 Saloon remains strikingly wedgy with its looks.
In contrast, the Honda 0 SUV pictured sports more 'conventional' SUV-like lines and silhouette. Additionally, this variant will hit the market first in North America, and other parts of the world later on, from 2026 onwards.
Accompanying the 0 Saloon is its more ‘conventional’ 0 SUV twin, which now boasts visible yet still flush door handles, framed windows, as well as real world wheels and tyres. Retained are some of the concept’s striking touches, namely the blacked-out glasshouse, thick D-pillar, and tapered rear.
Speaking of its derriere, the 0 SUV also sees its rear fascia sport a letterbox windscreen matched with U-shaped full-width taillight element doubling up to frame the tailgate section. Striking too is the headlights and DRLs up front, which also sports a visor that hides both.
On board, both EVs share matching minimalist cabin designs featuring lounge-like wraparound seats, a full-width display panel housing up to five screens – side-view camera displays included – plus an aviation-inspired steering yoke.
Looks aside, Honda also detailed some of the core tech primed in both models, but key specifications remain undisclosed still. Headlining the tech bill for the 0 Series duo is a new Asimo OS operating system, which is clearly named after the H-brand’s famed humanoid robot.
Honda adds that it seeks to merge tech pioneered by said robot with advanced AI to deliver unique experiences for software defined vehicles (SDVs), which is what the 0 Series duo effectively are. This also explains the integrated control of ECUs for multiple on board systems in both.

Next, the software set to be primed in both, which includes integrated vehicle dynamics control, can be updated over-the-air (OTA) to add new features and services. Completing the package is the 0 Series’ promises of packing Level 3 eyes-off automated driving abilities via Honda Sensing Elite.
Also key to the 0 Series are their adoption of cooperative Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve precision of interaction with other road users – i.e. yielding right of way to others. The system will also be expanded to include more driving conditions such as congested highways via OTA updates.
Through which, Honda also seek to become the first to market to offer eyes-off driving tech for all situations. Equally critical to all the features and abilities detailed too is the 0 Series’ adoption of bespoke high-end processors developed collaboratively Honda and Renesas.
Announced at CES 2025 too is the new Asimo OS, which will go on to power both 0 Series models.
Lastly, Honda also shed light on the charging ecosystem for the 0 Series in North America. Included is Honda Smart Charge, which combines a home energy management system co-developed with Emporia with vehicle grid integration (VGI) developed by ChargeScape, a joint venture with BMW and Ford.
This will allow the cars the charge themselves when both electric tariffs are low and renewable energies are used for which, and channel power back into the home when tariffs are high to reduce a household’s electricity bill.
Key specifications like e-motor outputs, battery capacities, range, as well as charging speeds, all remain undisclosed still, but are expected to be revealed ahead of the 0 Series' planned 2026 market arrival.
That aside, the 0 Series will also gain access to the Ionna charging network that Honda formed alongside seven other carmakers across North America, as well as the adoption Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port.
As for availability, Honda plans to have the 0 Series reach the North American market first sometime in the first half of 2026 starting with the 0 SUV, followed by the 0 Saloon the latter half of 2026. Global sales, namely Japan and Europe, will commence later on.
