Honda Teases New 0 Series Prototype EVs Ahead of CES 2025
-full.jpg)
Honda is set to unveil two new prototype EVs that are part of its 0 Series EV lineup at the upcoming CES 2025.
Unlike their European rivals, Japanese auto manufacturers are finally catching up on their electromobility adoption. Among the manufacturers who are gearing up for the electrified future is Honda, as it is slated to unveil two new prototype EVs from its new 0 Series EV lineup at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next year.

From the single teaser image officially published by the automaker, we can see that these new 0 Series prototype EVs look rather futuristic and nowhere near any current Honda production models. Starting with the left one, this prototype looks painstakingly similar to the 0 Series Saloon EV concept unveiled by Honda at last year’s CES, which is easily distinguishable by its sleek wedge-like bodystyle and the futuristic rectangular taillight unit.
With Honda insisting on the prototype labelling for these two mysterious EVs, perhaps we can expect to see a more ‘complete’ version of said concept, possibly some details regarding its powertrain and battery specs, too.

The next model teased, however, looks like nothing we’ve ever seen before, as it appears to adopt some kind of boxy SUV bodystyle. Judging from its position alongside the 0 Series Saloon EV concept, we can see that this mysterious EV SUV is a rather large one, possibly a potential rival to big EV SUVs such as the Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9, or even the Volvo EX90, to name a few.
And just like the 0 Series Saloon EV concept, the mysterious EV SUV prototype also gets a pretty futuristic look, featuring a curved roofline and a unique LED taillight bar. Aside from those, there’s nothing much left that can be derived from this shadowy teaser image, so your guesses are just as good as ours at this point.

However, the appearance of this EV SUV prototype may not be a big surprise after all, as Honda did mention plans to create several new SUV models as part of its future 0 Series EV lineup. Besides the Saloon EV concept, Honda is also slated to reveal no less than three SUVs in two years’ time, including an entry-level SUV model, a mid-sized one, and even a large SUV with three rows of seats.
By the end of the decade, this developing EV lineup will comprise a total of seven models, with the aforementioned saloon and three SUVs will be followed by two more SUV models and a compact sedan.

Besides these two teased prototype EVs, Honda is also slated to unveil its new proprietary on-board operating system (OS) specially catered for its future EVs, as well as several autonomous driving technologies at the upcoming CES 2025, which will take place from Jan 7 to 10, 2025, in Las Vegas.
