Kia EV4 Unveiled as a Sleek, Compact EV with Two Bodystyles

Ahead of its inaugural public appearance, Kia has shown the exterior design of the new Kia EV4 saloon & hatchback.
Following last week’s teaser, Kia has finally shown the first official images of its new compact EV, the Kia EV4. As we expected, the EV4 is available in both sedan and hatchback bodystyles, with both of them following the same ‘Opposites United’ design ethos as any other Kia EVs of late.

Regardless of bodystyles, the EV4 gets the same front fascia, featuring vertical LED headlights with thin DRL strips flanking on the side, while the grill-less front face is matched with a blacked-out lower bumper opening.

The Kia EV4 sedan gets a pretty unique long-tail fastback silhouette.
Things are dramatically different from the side, as the EV4 sedan gets a unique long-tail fastback bodystyle with a rakish rear windscreen and a long rear overhang. Also making the EV4 sedan stand out even amongst Kia’s eccentric EV lineup are the thick C-pillars and the full glass roof, while its LED taillights feature a similar vertical design as the front unit.

As for its hatch twin, the EV4 hatchback gets a more conventional five-door hatch bodystyle, featuring thick C-pillars and flared-out rear wheel arches that help to accentuate its muscular stance. The rear part is also slightly different from the sedan, with the hatch getting L-shaped LED taillights with a lightbar that connects the pair, while the roof-mounted spoiler gives it a typical hot-hatch look.
Not to forget, both the sedan and hatch versions will be offered with the sporty GT-Line trim, granting them large 19-inch wheels and black-hued bodykits, among other things.
As of now, Kia has yet to unveil any photos of the EV4’s innards, although we can expect it to be similarly futuristic and minimalistic as both the EV3 and EV5, while being decked with tons of tech and comfort amenities.

Also yet to be unveiled are the powertrain specs for both the EV4 saloon and hatchback. We’ve already known that this compact EV will share the same E-GMP platform as the rest of its siblings, but given its positioning in Kia’s EV hierarchy, we won’t be surprised to see the EV4 get similar powertrain and battery specs as the EV3 crossover.
We can expect to learn more about the new Kia EV4 once this sleek number makes its first public appearance at the upcoming Kia EV Day 2025, happening in Tarragona, Spain, on Feb 27. And just like the rest of Kia’s EV lineup, the EV4 will also be a global product, and with Kia Asia-Pacific (Kia APAC) previously showing its concept twin during the Kia EV Day APAC last year, dare we say the EV4 is likely to make its debut in our region sometime later in the future.
