Kia Vision Meta Turismo Unveiled as a Sporty Four-Door GT Concept

Kia celebrates their 80th anniversary by unveiling a radical four-door GT concept known as the Vision Meta Turismo.
Following its teaser earlier this week, Kia has now unveiled its new four-door GT concept known as the Vision Meta Turismo. Revealed in conjunction with Kia’s 80th anniversary in South Korea, the new concept features a very edgy and radical design that may or may not end up in the actual production model, should the automaker plan to make one.

From the get-go, the Vision Meta Turismo takes Kia’s Opposites United design ethos to the max, with its front end featuring a protruding shark nose as well as a contrasting black front fascia with angular LED lights and slender intakes.
Above the front face lies a short bonnet that flows into the concept’s rakish front windscreen, while the headlight bars are extended to form mounts for its digital side-view cameras, which are in place instead of conventional side mirrors.

As shown in its teaser, the concept rocks a sporty side profile that is reminiscent of a mid-engined supercar, thanks to the sleek roofline from its unique glass roof, short overhangs, and long wheelbase. Some key design highlights include angular doors, muscular rear fenders, an upward-sweeping beltline, and aero-optimised wheels.

The rear end is perhaps the most conservative part of the whole concept, where it adopts the same boomerang-shaped LED taillights seen on modern Kia EVs, plus contrasting black accents on the rear bumper and an integrated rear spoiler.

What’s also not fully revealed in the previous teaser was the interior, where the Vision Meta Turismo gets a pretty minimalist cabin setup that Kia described as a “highly immersive” environment. Some key highlights here include an intuitive augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD) that enables drivers to see “virtual graphics as if they are floating above the road in three dimensions,” a yoke-style steering wheel, and a bucket-style driver’s seat with a joystick-like control on the armrest.
While the automaker didn’t explain the functionality of this joystick, Kia’s head of design, Karim Habib, said that the concept is an “expression of Kia’s commitment to continually bring technologically advanced mobility and experiences that engage, stimulate, and inspire.”

Predictably, no details were also given regarding the powertrain setup of this concept, but given its radical bodystyle, the Vision Meta Turismo might be powered by an all-electric system. Whether this will be an actual production model, possibly as a replacement for the Stinger GT, also remains in the dark, at least for now.
