DAMD Transforms The Honda N-Box Into A Mini Range Rover
DAMD’s new Angie and Rodney bodykits transform the humble Honda N-Box into Range Rover-inspired kei cars.
Renowned Japanese tuning house DAMD is famous for making some of the quirkiest and most unique kei car builds around. This time, DAMD has introduced two new special bodykits for the humble Honda N-Box aptly named Angie and Rodney, with each of them featuring their own distinctive features and design.
DAMD Honda N-Box Angie bodykit
Starting with Angie, this special bodykit transforms the N-Box into a rugged, crossover-inspired kei van. Offered for both the regular N-Box and the more rugged N-Box Joy, it features a redesigned front face with a larger grille, four-position LED lights, and larger bumper intakes, to name a few.
Further accentuating the Range Rover-ness of the N-Box are the rugged skid plates on both ends, a unique checkered pattern on the side, and the optional 15-inch Nitro Power M6 Carbine alloy wheels. Still not rugged for your liking? Good thing that DAMD also offers an optional suspension lift kit from Tanabe and even a roof rack to make your rugged kei car truly adventure-ready.
DAMD Honda N-Box Rodney
Moving on to the Rodney, this special bodykit is exclusively available for the top-spec N-Box Custom, where it features a more upmarket upgrade compared to the adventure-oriented Angie.
Some key design highlights primed here include unique LED graphics for its headlights complemented with a full-width LED light bar, a similar front bumper design as the Angie, sharper side skirts, plus a slew of copper-hued accents. Given that the N-Box Custom, which it is based on, already features a number of snazzy parts, the Rodney bodykit does not include a new set of alloy wheels, as the standard 15-inch black-hued rolling stocks proved to be stylish enough.
Naturally, no performance upgrades were bestowed upon these two special N-Box builds, as they retain the same 658-CC engine that is capable of producing up to 63 HP, depending on the variant. And just like other kei cars out there, the N-Box is also offered with both front- (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) setups, with power deliveries assisted by a CVT automatic gearbox.
Now available for booking, the DAMD Angie bodykit starts from JPY 258,500 (RM7,669), while the upmarket Rodney kit is priced lower at JPY 215,600 (RM6,397). Mind you, these prices don’t include the optional add-ons mentioned above, as well as the actual price for the stock car, with the current-gen N-Box retailing from JPY 1.689 million to JPY 2.382 million (RM50,114 to RM70,676).
