Geely Unveils New G-Pilot ADAS Suite to Rival Tesla’s FSD

Geely has unveiled the latest version of its G-Pilot assisted driving tech, where it will be available for all its sub-brands.

Chinese automotive giant Geely has unveiled the latest version of its G-Pilot assisted driving system. Available in five variants, this new ADAS suite promises to offer drivers hi-tech autonomous driving capabilities, including a Level 3 autonomous driving system as well as door-to-door navigation, to name a few.

Of all the five variants offered, the G-Pilot ADAS suite starts with the baseline H1 system, where it offers automatic parking assistance and autopilot navigation on highways. This system will use no less than 10 cameras, as well as five millimeter-wave radars.

Meanwhile, the mid-spec systems like the H3, H5, and H7 all offer both highway and city streets autopilot navigation, although only the latter two come with a LiDAR sensor, while offering door-to-door navigation without HD maps.

What’s more impressive is the top-of-the-line G-Pilot H9 system, where it promises to offer drivers up to Level 3 of autonomous driving capabilities with a “full scenario door-to-door self-driving experience,” featuring 13 cameras, three millimeter-wave radars, and multiple LiDAR. Before you get too excited, Geely did mention that the L3 autonomous driving would only be available in the future.

Geely also announced that the first model to debut its new G-Pilot ADAS suite is the updated 2025 Geely Galaxy E8 EV saloon, where it will be equipped with the entry-level G-Pilot H1 system with automated parking assistance and highway autopilot. More importantly, Geely also confirms that the G-Pilot system will also be available on Geely’s other sub-brands like Zeekr, Lynk & Co, and Galaxy, to name a few.

As of now, Geely has yet to confirm whether this new ADAS system will be making its way into Proton models, but given that the Proton e.Mas 7 gets pretty similar safety specs as its Galaxy twin, perhaps it won’t be too far-fetched to presume so.

On the broader side, Geely’s announcement of its new G-Pilot ADAS system came in after rival brand BYD announced its new ADAS suite known as the BYD God’s Eye. Combined with Tesla’s initial rollout of its Full Self Driving (FSD) system, the autonomous driving tech race in China seems to be getting more diverse and interesting, as it was previously dominated by only two brands—Huawei and Xpeng.
