Hari Raya 2025: Over 3 Million Vehicles Expected to Enter Pahang

A total of 3.14 million vehicles are expected to enter Pahang ahead of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivity period.
A total of 3.14 million vehicles are expected to enter Pahang during the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivity period, says Pahang state Public Works, Transport, and Health EXCO YB Datuk Razali Kassim.
As reported by Bernama, the Pahang state EXCO further elaborated that of the total, 2.24 million vehicles will be using the KL-Karak Expressway (KLK), while the remaining 903,000 will be travelling into the state via the East Coast Expressway 1 (LPT1).
Razali also said an increase in traffic volume is expected to occur during this Aidilfitri festive season, with the KLK expressway expected to reach its highest volume on Saturday, April 5, with 216,000 vehicles. Meanwhile, the LPT1 would see its highest traffic volume recorded in the next day with an estimated 119,000 vehicles.

"To avoid traffic jams, I urge road users to plan their journeys ahead of time, especially since Hari Raya Aidilfitri is expected to fall on Monday," he said to Bernama during the launch of the 2025 Aidilfitri safety and Ops Siaga campaign yesterday.
Razali reassured that the Pahang state government remains committed to ensuring smooth and safe travel by conducting regular maintenance and improvements, including recent repairs on a 400-metre damaged stretch in Package 5C1 of Lingkaran Tengah Utama (LTU) in Bentong, as well as the construction of four temporary rest areas along the expressway.

In a separate report, Penang deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said that an estimated 2.6 million vehicles are expected to enter Penang within six days during the Hari Raya festive period.
Speaking to The Star, Alwi said the estimate is based on traffic from the North-South Expressway and federal roads, as Penang shares borders with Kedah and Perak, from Saturday, March 29, to April 3.

"(These travellers are) not only Penangites returning to their hometowns but also other road users from neighbouring states in transit, as Penang is located between Kedah and Perak.
"A total of 331 traffic policemen will be deployed to monitor and enforce road regulations under Ops Selamat during this period," he spoke to The Star during the 218th Police Day celebration at the state police contingent headquarters in Lebuh Penang earlier today.
The DCP also added that of the approximately 6,700 personnel in the contingent, only 10% would be allowed to go on leave during the festive period.
"Inspections will be intensified by motorcycle patrol units in residential areas and villages. This is to ensure the safety of public property, especially during the festive season when many people return to their hometowns.”
