Revealed in China recently is the updated 2025MY GWM TANK 300.

Great Wall Motor (GWM) unveiled an updated 2025 model year version (2025MY) of its TANK 300 recently. The popular 4x4 SUV bowed in the marque’s home market of China, and changes seen here could be mirrored in overseas versions soon, though this remains unconfirmed still.

Headlining the 2025MY TANK 300’s update is the addition of a larger new 14.6-inch floating central infotainment touchscreen display powered by GWM’s latest ‘Coffee OS 3.0’ software and Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. This replaces the existing model’s 12.3-inch unit.

Changes here also bring new dual 50-watt wireless chargers, plus a redesigned vents and updated dash finishing.

Revised too is the steering wheel, which now features a D-shaped design. Next comes the redesigned centre console that now houses dual 50-watt wireless smartphone charging pads, revised physical control switches, new central air vent, and updated dashboard finishing.

Other changes include a new column-mounted gear selector replacing the aviation-inspired gear shifter seen previously. New to the Chinese market model is an uprated 12-speaker audio suite featuring active noise cancellation, and new Nappa leather upholstery choice.

Specific to the Chinese market version - for now - is an uprated 12-speaker audio suite with added active noise cancellation function.

Exterior changes, on the other hand, appear limited. However, filings with China’s MIIT ministry office reveal a tweaked front bumper, with one source adding that the Chinese market version will also see a built-in winch primed. New here too is a ‘Desert Sand taupe’ exterior paint option.

Mechanically, the Chinese market version is available with GWM’s ‘Hi4-T’ plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain option, which pairs a 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol lump with an e-motor and battery setup. Altogether, this package boasts 402 HP and 750 NM.

Documents filed with China's MIIT revealed limited changes to the exterior. One source does add that this version could also gain a built-in winch, but only for the Chinese market version.

Besides that, and a (presumably) unchanged 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol lump as seen in the current Malaysia-spec model, there's also a newly added 2.4-litre 4-cyl turbo-diesel option, rated at 181 HP and 480 NM, for the Chinese market version of the 2025MY TANK 300.

Again, it remains unclear if and when the changes and upgrades noted will be primed in overseas export versions just yet. As a refresher, the GWM TANK 300 was launched locally in Malaysia back in July at RM250,000 sans insurance.
