Permaisuri of Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah officiated the launch of Johor Motorsport Racing’s (JMR) 2025 GT3 campaign at the Permaisuri Zarith Sofiah Opera House last night.

She was joined by Che’ Puan Mahkota Khaleeda Johor, the Raja Muda of Johor Tunku Iskandar Tunku Ismail, as well as her children and grandchildren.

The event saw the reveal of JMR’s striking new Corvette Z06 GT3.R, dressed in the team’s signature blue and silver livery. The car is based on the eighth-generation Corvette Z06.

The 2025 driver line-up includes Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Sultan Ibrahim, alongside co-drivers Alexander Sims (UK) and Jordan Love (Australia).

Tunku Abdul Rahman noted that JMR is the only team in Asia competing with the Corvette this season. “We’re proud to work with Chevrolet and bring their international success to Asia. This is just the beginning of a long-term vision,” he said.

Team manager Andrew Simpson meanwhile expressed confidence in the new setup and upcoming season. “Since joining JMR in 2018, I’ve seen the Tunku brothers grow into serious contenders. We’re excited to kick off the season at Sepang from April 10 to April 13,” he said.

JMR has had a strong run over the past seven years and aims to build on that momentum with the new Corvettes.
