Xi Jinping’s Official Visit: 17 Key Routes Affected
![]()
The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), through its Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT), will implement full road closures and diversions in conjunction with the official visit of Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, to Malaysia this week from April 15 to April 17.
This announcement was made by Datuk Sri Mohd Yusri bin Haji Hassan Basri, Director of JSPT, in an official media statement. A total of 17 major routes in the Klang Valley and Putrajaya will be affected during the Chinese premier’s three-day visit.

Each road closure or diversion is expected to last approximately 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the movement of the official delegation. Roads will be reopened once the convoy has safely passed through the area.
To ensure smooth operations throughout the visit, JSPT will deploy approximately 378 officers and personnel, comprising both senior officers and rank-and-file members. Their responsibilities will include escorting dignitaries, managing traffic, and enforcing road safety regulations along the affected routes.
President Xi Jinping's Hongqi N701 has arrived to Malaysia ahead of the Premier's visit.
On April 15 at 6.00PM, several key routes including Lebuh KLIA, ELITE Expressway, Putrajaya Ring Road, Putrajaya-Dengkil Highway, Persiaran Selatan, Lebuh Gemilang, Jalan P5, and MEX Highway will experience temporary closures.

On April 16, closures will begin at 9.30AM and continue at intervals throughout the day. The morning session will affect Jalan P5, Lebuh Gemilang, Persiaran Selatan, Putrajaya-Dengkil Highway, Putrajaya Ring Road, KESAS Highway, SPE Highway, SUKE Highway, NPE Highway, SMART Tunnel, KL-Seremban Highway, Jalan Istana, Jalan Damansara, Jalan Sultan Abdul Halim, and Jalan Sultan Iskandar. These routes will also be affected again at 12.30PM.

Later that afternoon at 4.10PM, traffic will be temporarily halted on Jalan P5, Lebuh Gemilang, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Lebuh Sentosa, Lebuh Perdana Barat, and Persiaran Seri Perdana. Another round of closures will occur at 6.30PM, involving Persiaran Seri Perdana, Lebuh Perdana Barat, Lebuh Sentosa, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Lebuh Gemilang, and Jalan P5.
On the final day of the visit, April 17, at 8.50AM, the affected routes will include Jalan P5, Lebuh Gemilang, Persiaran Selatan, Putrajaya-Dengkil Highway, Putrajaya Ring Road, ELITE Expressway, and Lebuh KLIA.

JSPT has urged all road users to plan their journeys in advance, use alternative routes, and avoid the affected areas during the scheduled times. Motorists are advised to obey all instructions from traffic personnel on-site to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow.
The department also extended its appreciation to the public for their cooperation and patience throughout this important occasion.
