MAS 2025: iCaur Makes Malaysian Debut, 03 & V23 EVs Showcased

The iCaur brand has made its Malaysian debut at MAS 2025, showcasing both the iCaur 03 and V23 EV SUVs.
Another day, another new Chinese car brand entering our market, this time being yet another sub-brand from Chery Group, known as iCaur. Renamed from iCar for export markets, the marque is borne out of collaboration between Chery and Chinese tech giant Xiaomi, where two models are being displayed here at MAEPS Serdang, namely the iCaur 03 and V23 EV SUVs.

Keen eyes will know that the iCaur 03 previously made its Malaysian debut at last year’s Malaysia Autoshow, where it was dressed as the Jaecoo J6 back then. Now wearing its true iCaur badge, this compact off-roader EV gets the same boxy SUV bodystyle as its Jaecoo twin, with key highlights including the i-shaped LED lighting units, flared-out fenders, a built-in tailgate storage box, and many more.

The V23, on the other hand, stood as the more rugged and retro-inspired of the two, featuring rounded LED headlights, the same boxy SUV bodystyle as the 03, albeit slightly smaller in dimensions, thick C-pillars, a smaller tailgate storage box, and many more.

On board, both the iCaur 03 and V23 get a pretty tech-heavy interior setup—something you expect to see in Chinese cars nowadays, let alone one that was made in collaboration with a tech giant. For the 03, it gets an assortment of tech bits, including a large 15.6-inch central infotainment screen, a smaller 9.2-inch digital metre cluster, powered and ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, and many more.

The V23 does get the same typical large screen front dash setup as the 03, but it retains some physical buttons and dials for the climate and media controls. Given its smaller facade, space is quite a premium inside here, but the cabin is still lined with premium soft-touch materials and upholstery.

Powertrain-wise, the iCaur 03 comes in two specs, namely the entry-level single-motor 2WD and the peppier dual-motor iWD. The former uses a single, rear-mounted (RWD) electric motor rated at 181 HP (135 kW) and 220 NM, while its 65.7-kWh LFP battery pack is good for up to 426 km of NEDC range.
The dual-motor iWD model, on the other hand, gets a healthier total system output of 275 HP (205 kW) and 385 NM. Juice is provided by a larger 69.8-kWh LFP pack, but the iWD model gets a slightly discounted NEDC range of 418 km.

As for the V23, it is also offered in both single-motor 2WD and dual-motor AWD forms, with the latter boasting a total system output of 208 HP (155 kW) and 292 NM. Using a larger 81.76-kWh NMC pack, the V23 AWD gets a healthier CLTC range of up to 501 km.
Registration of interest (ROI) for the iCaur 03 is now open from today onwards, while no ROI or booking details were shared regarding the V23. The 03 will go on sale sometime later in Q3 2025, and customers can even secure a booking for one for a RM1,000 fee.
You can check out both the iCaur 03 and V23 at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, happening at MAEPS Serdang from May 9 to 15, 2025.
