iCaur V23 EV SUVs Sighted In Malaysia – Launching Soon?

Shown locally at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS 2025) and recently launched in Thailand badged as a Chery, the iCaur V23 EV SUV looks set to launch here in Malaysia soon. Fuelling that notion further is this recent spyshot that surfaced on social media.
The features image was posted on the Threads social media platform last weekend. It shows two units of the iCaur V23 sighted a local EV charging hub. Notably, both units wore local licence plates, signalling their status as locally registered vehicles.
The iCaur V23 - also known in China as the iCar V23 - was first shown locally at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS 2025) earlier this year.

The latter likely suggests that both units are serving as docket vehicles for type-approval (VTA) purposes. Usually, this is one of the final steps in legitimising a vehicle before it is officially launched. The sight of both perhaps suggests a debut could happen soon.
All signs also point towards the iCaur V23 being the second iCaur model set for launch very soon. Critically, this is a bigger car, so it is expected to slot above the iCaur 03 that launched last month.

Unlike the iCaur 03 model that launched last month, the iCaur V23 is presented as a slightly larger offering that's poised to slot just above.

When contrasted against the iCaur 03 model mentioned, the iCaur V23 sits 186 mm shorter at 4,220 mm long but it does benefit with a 20 mm longer wheelbase measuring 2,735 mm. It’s also 5 mm wider at 1,915 mm and 130 mm taller at 1,845 mm.
The Chery-badged version launched in the Land of Smiles just north of our Peninsular’s border recently saw both rear- (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) grades bowing.
No word on price yet, but expect the iCaur V23 to command similar figures close to the smaller iCaur 03 model mentioned.

The former packs a single e-motor rated at 136 PS and 180 Nm, and it’s juiced by a 59.93 kWh LFP battery pack. As for the latter, it packs a beefier dual-motor setup outputting 211 PS and 292 Nm instead, not forgetting a larger 81.76 kWh NMC battery pack to boot.
Both packs accept 6.6 kW AC charging inputs, though the larger pack does benefit with quicker 104 kW DC fast-charging speeds versus the smaller pack’s 85 kW DCFC speed. Up to 300 KM (RWD) and 360 KM (AWD) of WLTP-rated range figures were also touted.
As for price, this remains officially undisclosed still. Nevertheless, expect its launch prices to come close to the figures commanded by the iCaur 03 model launched last month, which ranges between RM119,800 and RM129,800.
