Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS 2025) opens its doors today, kicking off a major showcase of future mobility. With more than 200 exhibitors and over 500 vehicles on display, this year’s show features a record number of electric vehicles (EVs) across both passenger and two-wheeler segments.

The event spans 50,000 square metres and brings together the full automotive ecosystem—from carmakers and suppliers to banks and EV infrastructure. Organised by the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics, and IoT Institute (MARii), it offers launches, test drives, and interactive experiences.

Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) YB Senator Tengku Zafrul officiated the launch, calling it a key step in making Malaysia a hub for green mobility and a leader in ASEAN’s e-mobility plans.

He said the show supports national goals under NAP, NIMP 2030, and NETR, pushing for innovation, clean energy, and higher-value manufacturing.

MAS 2025 is more than a display. Visitors can test and compare over 70 new models, including EVs, bikes, and future mobility tech. It also hosts the final stop of the 9,000km ASEAN Unity Drive.

MARii CEO Azrul Reza Aziz said the show promotes tech adoption and industry growth, offering a full experience—from learning to buying.

The show now holds the ASEAN record for the largest outdoor obstacle test drive zone—5.1 km of tracks where visitors can try more than 100 vehicles in real-world conditions.

Malaysia sold over 816,000 vehicles in 2024, ranking second in Southeast Asia. EV sales are rising fast, with nearly 9,850 electric and hybrid units sold in Q1 2025.

Over 250,000 visitors are expected. Big names like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Chery, Tesla, Toyota, BYD, Proton, Perodua, Zeekr and more are participating, along with banks and accessories brands.

Additionally, visitors can test drive most vehicles on display along a five kilometres test track specially curated to test tech like ADAS, handling and off-road ability.

There’s something for everyone—car gatherings, motorsport and modified car showcases, plus a career fair and Women’s Day featuring Jazeman Jaafar, Anita Yusof, and more.

Entertainment includes Malaysia’s biggest Tesla Light Show and a concert by BYD. Visitors can win prizes, including a brand-new vehicle, by attending or joining test drives.
