11 Lorry, 17 Bus Operators Top Summons List - MOT
The Ministry of Transport (MOT), through the Road Transport Department (JPJ), has released a list of goods vehicle and express bus operators with the highest number of outstanding summonses.
According to the ministry, 11 goods vehicle companies have accumulated more than 1,000 unresolved summonses, while 17 express bus operators have over 200 outstanding summonses.
“For goods vehicle operators, the most frequent violations include technical faults such as defective brakes or tyres, illegal modifications, overloading, and operating without a valid driver’s licence, road tax, or insurance,” it says.
Meanwhile, express bus operators were commonly cited for speeding, traffic offences such as lane misuse, queue-jumping, using mobile phones while driving, and similar documentation-related offences.
“All listed companies have been given 14 days from the date of this announcement to settle their summonses at any JPJ branch. Failure to do so will result in immediate blacklisting of the vehicles involved, alongside further enforcement actions,” it says, urging all operators to uphold their responsibilities to ensure the safety of all road users.
Earlier, MOT announced that all heavy vehicles registered after 1 January 2015 must be fitted with Speed Limit Devices (SLDs), with enforcement beginning on 1 October 2025.
For vehicles registered before that date, enforcement will take effect on 1 January 2026. All vehicles without an SLD must have the device installed by July 2026.
