Kelana Jaya LRT Delayed After Passenger Falls Onto Track

Commuters on the Kelana Jaya LRT Line experienced peak-hour delays this morning (July 4) after a passenger fell onto the track near Subang Alam Station.
Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd confirmed that the individual entered the track area around 8:00 AM, just as a train was approaching the platform, prompting a temporary service disruption.
The incident, which triggered a service halt at around 8:02 AM, led to a temporary disruption. In a statement, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd confirmed that full operations resumed at 10:22AM. The rail operator in a statement said station staff immediately alerted emergency responders, including the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Fire and Rescue Department, who were quickly dispatched to the scene.
The seriously injured individual was successfully rescued and transported to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) in Klang for ongoing medical care.
Authorities are now investigating the incident, and Rapid Rail says it is fully cooperating with the ongoing probe.
“We apologise for the inconvenience and thank commuters for their patience and understanding,” the company added.

This isn’t the first time such incidents have happened. Earlier this year, a visually impaired man was killed after falling onto the tracks at Titiwangsa station, and just last month, a 60-year-old Taiwanese man died in a similar accident at Pusat Bandar Puchong.
In response, the Transport Ministry recently directed Prasarana to upgrade safety measures across all LRT stations, including the installation of passenger safety doors.
