Launched: 2025 Honda HR-V Facelift – Four Variants, From RM115,900

Honda Malaysia has just launched the facelifted Honda HR-V today, featuring four variants priced from RM115,900 onwards.
Following its booking commencement earlier this month, Honda Malaysia has just launched the updated version of its B-segment SUV, the 2025 Honda HR-V facelift. Four variants will be available for this best-selling non-national B-SUV in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM115,900 for the 1.5 S, RM130,900 for the 1.5 E, RM137,900 for the 1.5 V, and RM143,900 for the top-spec e:HEV RS.

Included with said prices is the standard 5-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty, while the e:HEV RS variant gets a separate 8-year unlimited mileage warranty for the e:HEV battery.

No changes on the powertrain front for the facelifted HR-V, as the baseline 1.5 S still uses the same 1.5-litre 4-cyl nat-asp i-VTEC petrol engine as before, delivering 121 PS and 145 Nm to the front wheels (FWD) via a CVT automatic gearbox.
Meanwhile, the two turbocharged variants—the 1.5 E and 1.5 V—continue to be powered by the same 1.5-litre 4-cyl DOHC VTEC turbo mill that churns out 181 PS and 240 Nm, which is mated to the same CVT gearbox and FWD setup.

Last but not least, the top-spec e:HEV RS variant gets the same hybrid setup as before, featuring a 1.5-litre 4-cyl Atkinson Cycle i-VTEC engine rated at 107 PS and 131 Nm, plus a 131 PS and 253 Nm-rated electric motor. Drive is then sent to the front wheels (FWD) via an e-CVT hybrid transmission.
Century sprint times read out at 12.1 seconds for the 1.5 S, 8.7 seconds for the 1.5 E, 8.8 seconds for the 1.5 V, and 10.7 seconds for the e:HEV RS. However, the hybrid gets the best fuel economy rate of 4.1 litres / 100 km, followed by the 1.5 S at 5.9 litres / 100 km, and the turbocharged duo at 6.5 litres / 100 km.

Design-wise, the facelifted third-gen HR-V carries some minor design traits over from the outgoing model, with the most prominent one being its new front grille, featuring a sleeker and more minimalist design. The LED headlights have also been slightly redesigned, now featuring the Active Cornering Light function for the top-spec e:HEV RS variant.

Also new here are the redesigned rear end that houses new full-width LED taillights and new 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels that are now offered across the range. Not to forget, two new colourways will also be available for the new HR-V, namely Phoenix Orange Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl.

The facelift treatment continues inside the new HR-V, where it gets some minor enhancements and design updates, with the biggest one being the new 8-inch infotainment screen. Available across all variants, this new head unit now features wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as Honda Connect support as standard.

The new head unit is accompanied by a redesigned central console that houses a USB-C port and a wireless charger, although the latter is only available for the top-spec e:HEV RS variant. Other key amenities include the updated 7-inch digital metre cluster for the 1.5 E variant and above, leather seat upholstery with RS embossing and dual-zone climate control for the range-topper, and many more.

In terms of safety, all variants of the new HR-V now come standard with the Honda Sensing ADAS suite, which includes functions like Adaptive Driving Beam, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), and many more.

With the updated 2025 Honda HR-V now unveiled, Honda Malaysia aims to continue the model’s success streak, as it now leads the non-national B-SUV segment so far this year with 41% market share, or 8,672 units from Jan to June 2025. Since its inception in the Malaysian market back in 2015, more than 170,000 units of the HR-V have been sold, thus solidifying its position as one of the most popular B-SUVs in our market.
