New Brabus 1000 Is Effectively A ‘Hyper-PHEV’ With 1,000 PS & 1,620NM!
Pictured here is the very latest effort from world renowned tuners Brabus, and the German-rooted firm has elected to inject a dose of steroids into the latest super-PHEV (plug-in hybrid) from Mercedes-AMG that’s rooted a few towns over in Affalterbach.
Christened as the Brabus 1000, this new AMG GT63S E performanc Coupe-based creation boasts some impressive numbers that stems from an enhanced powertrain.
Underneath, the base V8 has been bored up from 4.0-litre to 4.4-litre, and it's brimmed with new turbos, forged pistons, new crank, sports exhaust, and more.

Firstly, the base car’s 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo mill gets an enlarged 4.4-litre displacement thanks to an increased 84 MM cylinder bore. Following which are new forged pistons, as well as a bespoke billet-aluminium crankshaft with a lengthened 100 MM stroke.
Other additions include new turbochargers from Brabus themselves, new stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system primed with butterfly valves to alter the decibel levels, not forgetting a customary new engine management system to ensure all these works.
Altogether, this PHEV powertrain boats 1,000 PS (986 HP) and up to 1,820 NM of twist, though the latter is electronically capped at 1,620 NM instead to preserve the driveline.

Altogether, this base V8 now puts out 796 PS (785 HP) and 1,250 NM – up from ‘only’ 603 HP in stock form. The tuner adds that the engine management unit noted prior electronically limits things here to just 1,050 NM, presumably to preserve the 9-speed DCT transmission.
The other half to this beefed-up powertrain is of coursed the added electrification, whereby the base car’s e-motor (with two-speed transmission) and 6.1 kWh battery pack are retained, the former bringing an added boost of 204 PS (201 HP) and 320 NM.

Unlike the stock AMG GT63S E Performance it underpins, the Brabus 1000 does 0-100 KM/H in just 2.6 secs, 0-200 KM/H in just 9.5 secs, and 0-300 KM/H in just 23.6 secs.

Altogether, there’s a whopping 1,000 PS (hence the ‘Brabus 1000’ name) or 986 HP available on hand, and up to 1,820 NM of twist. However, Brabus again notes the latter is capped electronically at just 1,620 NM, though we’ll argue that’s plenty good enough.
Coupled with the base car’s all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup retained by Brabus, 0-100 KM/H sprints take just 2.6 secs versus the stock base car’s 2.8 secs. For reference, the McLaren W1 hypercar is ‘slightly’ slower here at 2.7 secs instead.

Brabus also brimmed this latest creation of theirs with a wind tunnel-honed aerokit and aero additions that includes a fixed rear wing.
Rolling stock sees the Brabus 1000 rock the B-marque's Monoblock Z 10-spoke design in staggered 21-inch (front) and 22-inch (rear) sizes.

Besides that, 0-200 KM/H and 0-300 KM/H take just 9.5 secs and 23.6 secs respectively. Despite the heightened outputs, Brabus again practiced some restraint here in this new creation by electronically capping V-Max at just 320 KM/H.
Power is noting without control, and the Brabus 1000 covers which firstly through its wind tunnel-tested aerokit and aerodynamic additions – fixed rear wing, front canards, front splitter plus rear diffuser assembly all accounted for.
As for rolling stock, the Brabus 1000 rocks the tuning firm’s signature Monoblock Z design 10-spoke set in staggered 21-inch (front) and 22-inch (rear) sizes. These are then supported with new height-adjustable sports suspension with sports springs, both co-developed with KW.

On board, the Brabus 1000 is imbued with black leather featuring a striking quilting motif for the seats, floor mats and boot floor. There are a slew of carbon fibre trims present, plus a new Dinamica headliner.

On board, the Brabus 1000 boasts rich use of black leather with quilting motifs that even extends to the floor mats and boot liner. There’s also a new Dinamica microfibre headliner.
Additionally, there are a selection of carbon fibre trims with the numbers ‘77’ embossed in them, the latter being a nod to the firm’s year of establishment (1977).
