NPE & Besraya Road Closure For IJM Allianz Duo Highway Challenge 2025

Several major routes along the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) and Sungai Besi Expressway (Besraya) will be closed this Sunday, Aug 3, from 1 AM to 11 AM to make way for the IJM Allianz Duo Highway Challenge 2025.
The seventh edition of the annual road race will draw over 13,000 runners and feature four categories - a full marathon (42.195 KM), a half marathon (21 KM), a 10KM race, and a 5 KM fun run. All races will start and finish in front of Sunway Pyramid, Petaling Jaya.

Acting Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad said the full marathon route will span both the NPE and Besraya Highways. Runners will head toward Templer and Kuchai Lama before looping back to the starting point.
Closures on the Besraya will affect key sections including Kuchai Lama, Sungai Besi, Taman Salak Jaya, Salak Selatan, the Loke Yew Toll Plaza, Jalan Istana, Jalan Cheras, Maluri, Jalan Pandan 1, Pandan Indah and the MRR2.

On the NPE, affected areas include the Kampung Pasir interchange, ramps to and from Pantai Sentral Park and Pantai Dalam, as well as ramps around Kuchai Maju and the Kuchai U-turn.

Race start times are staggered, with the full marathon beginning at 3AM, followed by the 21 KM race at 5AM, the 10 KM at 5.30AM and the 5 KM run at 6.50 AM.
Police and traffic marshals will be deployed throughout the route to manage road closures, guide traffic and ensure public safety. Motorists are advised to avoid the affected areas, use alternate routes, and comply with all instructions on the day.
