East Coast Flood: Partial Closure at LPT 2 and Several Other Main Roads

Several main roads and highways, including a few stretches on the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT 2) are partially closed due to the East Coast floods.

According to notices issued by Malaysia Highway Authority (LLM) via its Facebook page at 11am today, a slope collapse was reported at KM 393.4 of the LPT 2, northbound from Bukit Besi to Ajil, Terengganu, which forced a traffic closure for all vehicles at the Dungun-Kuala Terengganu route.

Said slope collapse also caused a total road closure at both Dungun and Bukit Besi Toll Plaza entrances. Users travelling northbound to Kuala Terengganu are advised to take an alternative route by exiting at Dungun interchange and continue their journey via Jalan Bukit Besi-Dungun (Route T123) and Federal Route FT03.

Meanwhile, a partial lane closure was enforced at KM 415 of the LPT 2, northbound from Ajil to Kuala Terengganu, with both the emergency and left lane closed due to rising flood water level. Another road closure takes place at the Kerteh toll plaza entrance and exit on Route T129, where said routes are closed for all vehicles.

Aside from LPT 2, several main roads along the East Coast region are also closed due to floods. As of 11.41am today, the Kota Bharu-Kuala Terengganu route is closed for all vehicles from KM 675.5 to 676 and KM 664, while the Kota Bharu-Pasir Mas-Rantau Panjang route is closed for small vehicles at KM 740.5.
