Chery’s NEV Sales Soar as Global Demand Intensifies
---11.8.2025-full_normal.jpg)

Chery Group maintained its strong growth in July with sales of 224,439 vehicles, up 14.7% year-on-year. This included 65,357 new energy vehicles (NEVs), a 44.1% increase. Exports rose 31.9% to 119,090 units, reinforcing Chery’s position as China’s top automotive exporter.
The company attributes its momentum to its “Four Development Strategies” of regulatory compliance, product localisation, competitive enhancement and market differentiation, which have strengthened its presence in overseas markets.

In Brazil, monthly sales now exceed 6,000 units, while Australia maintains around 3,000. In Malaysia, Chery delivered more than 2,600 vehicles in July (data.gov.my), a figure close to Australia’s despite the local market being significantly smaller.
From Jan to July, Chery sold a record 1,484,563 vehicles, up 14.5% from the same period last year. Exports reached 669,360 units, while NEV sales climbed 87.7% to 424,737 units. Chery’s global customer base now exceeds 17.18 million, including more than 5.17 million owners outside China.

In July, Chery became the fastest-rising automaker on both the Fortune Global 500 and Fortune China 500 lists, ranking 233rd globally and 59th in China, up from 385th and 100th respectively in 2024. It is also the first Chinese automaker to surpass five million cumulative vehicle exports.
The brand’s growth is supported by advances in platform architecture, hybrid engines, electric drive systems, battery technology and intelligent interfaces, including its self-developed Chery Super Hybrid (CSH).

Chery has also been highlighting its safety credentials through the Global Safety Challenge, a series of extreme real-world tests across five countries.
The programme began in China with spiral rollovers, dual-vehicle crashes and a seven-vehicle vertical stack. In Indonesia, CSH batteries were immersed in seawater for 54 hours, followed by a battery scrape test in Mexico. The challenge will conclude in Brazil and South Africa later this year.
