Face-lifted Third-Gen Peugeot 308 Revealed
The third-generation Peugeot 308 hatchback and estate have been given a refresh. Revealed globally online last night, there’s now a dramatic new look, updated and more efficient electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains, and more.
Visually, unlike the pre-facelift version that first debuted in 2021, there’s now a distinct new front fascia minus the ‘fangs’ formed by the LED DRLs. In turn, this brings both the new 308 and 308 SW visually aligned with the bigger 3008 and 5008 crossovers.

Note the distinct - and arguably 'cleaner' - new front end that's now free of the LED DRL 'fangs' seen in the pre-facelift version.

Though certainly a very appealing design change, it hides the fact that it also improves the 308’s aerodynamics. In turn, this also contributes to improved fuel and energy efficiency across the board. New here too are fresh 17- and 18-inch wheel designs.
At the rear, things remain largely unchanged apart from the deleted chrome inserts in the rear bumper whilst the taillights gain a fancier-looking ‘claw’ LED formation. The latter is now standard across the board – it was exclusive to the GT guise prior.

Changes on board are minimal, but does include new 3D graphics for both the infotainment and digital instrumentation.

Whilst on aesthetic changes still, changes on board are much less pronounced, though there are new 3D graphics for the infotainment and digital instrumentation. Annoyingly, the Peugeot i-Cockpit design ethos continues unchanged – tiny steering wheel included.
Key equipment brimmed include a 10-speaker Focal Premium audio system, eight-colour cabin ambient lighting, massage seats, as well as a newly added over-the-air (OTA) software update ability for the infotainment.

The 308 SW estate continues to be the 'Practicality King' with a 598-litre boot, which is expandable to 1,487 litres thanks to the 40:20:40 split rear seat. There's also a power tailgate function.

As for the 308 SW estate, this long-roofed offshoot continues to offer the added practicality via its enormous boot. There’s 598 litres and 1,487 litres of luggage space here, the latter stemming from 40:20:40 split folding rear seats, and there’s a powered tailgate too.
Like before, the 308 range continues to see mild-hybrid (MHEV) petrol, diesel, as well as PHEV and EV powertrain choices. Retained are the 1.2-litre turbo petrol 3-cyl MHEV petrol and 1.5-litre diesel that now put out higher 143 HP and 129 HP respectively.

The 308's PHEV heart now boasts improved e-range of up to 85 KM, and all combustion (ICE) variants are all primed with a 6-speed DCT box that has an integrated e-motor design.

The PHEV unit instead pairs a 1.6-litre 4-cyl petrol mill with an e-motor to put out a combined 192 HP. The latter is juiced by a 17.2 kWh battery pack that promises an improved electric range of 85 KM – up from 79 KM prior.
With the combustion (ICE) powertrains, they’re all paired with a six-speed DCT (e-DSC6) transmission as standard – said box has an integrated e-motor. The french automaker even touts that the MHEV unit can drive up to 50% of the time in EV mode under urban environments.

With the e-308, it now boasts improved range of up to 452 KM thanks to a larger new 55.4 kWh battery pack that also boasts V2L ability.

As for the all-electric e-308, carried over is the pre-facelift’s 154 HP e-motor, but it’s now juiced by a slightly larger 55.4 kWh battery pack – up from 51 KWh prior. Paired with the enhanced aero mentioned, range has increased from 408 KM to 452 KM now.
Said battery pack in the E-308 also accepts up to 100 kW DC fast-charging input, thus allowing 20-80% charge attained in just 32 minutes. Whilst here, Peugeot also adds that it has vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality enabled via an optional adapter.

The refreshed Peugeot 308 range goes on sale in EU and the UK this autumn, with production set to commence soon at Peugeot's Mulhouse plant in France.

The face-lifted line-up of the Peugeot 308 will be available in Europe and the UK starting this autumn. Prices are expected to be announced later.
The model will still be manufactured at Peugeot's Mulhouse plant in France.
