Launched: Ford Ranger WildTrak 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel – RM192,888

SDAC-Ford debuts the long-teased Ford Ranger WildTrak 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel today, priced from RM192,888 onwards.
Following its teaser and rumours, SDAC-Ford has finally debuted the long-awaited Ford Ranger WildTrak 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel today. This V6-powered variant of the Ranger retails at RM192,888 on-the-road sans insurance in Peninsular Malaysia, making it the most expensive non-Raptor variant of the pick-up truck in our market.

Included with said price is a standard 5-year or 160,000 km manufacturer’s warranty that can be extended to seven years, while early bird customers will get a complimentary 2-year Extended Service Package plus a limited-edition cooler bag upon vehicle delivery. On top of that, customers who book the pick-up truck online will receive an exclusive Ford camping chair.

As its name suggests, the new Ranger WildTrak 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel swaps the 2.0-litre unit used on other Ranger variants for a class-leading 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel engine rated at 250 PS and 600 Nm. Said engine is still mated to the same 10-speed automatic transmission, as well as a full-time four-wheel drive (4WD) system to allow a century sprint time of 8.7 seconds.

More importantly, this powertrain combo grants the new Ranger WildTrak 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel up to six driving modes—Normal, Eco, Slippery, Mud/Ruts, Sand, and Tow/Haul. Speaking of tow and haul, this pick-up truck can support up to 1,000 kg of payload on its flatbed, while its towing capacity is capped at up to 3,500 kg.

In terms of design, the new Ranger WildTrak 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel looks more or less the same as the standard, 2.0-liter-powered WildTrak variant, albeit featuring some minor changes. Key design highlights include upgraded LED matrix headlights with C-clamp DRLs, a pair of V6 emblems on the front fenders, new 20-inch alloy wheels shod in 255/55 R20 tyres, roof rails, and many more.
And just like the 2.0-litre WildTrak, the new V6 Wildtrak also comes with a sports bar on its tailgate, while the Easy Life tailgate, roller shutter, and a 230-volt three-pin socket make it a pretty capable workhorse or a practical camper, depending on your preferences.
Not to forget, four exterior colourways are available for the new Ranger WildTrak 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel, namely Arctic White, Absolute Black, Luxe Yellow, and Meteor Grey.

On-board, the new Ranger WildTrak 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel exudes its lifestyle pick-up trait by featuring a well-equipped interior cabin brimming with tech and comfort amenities. Key highlights include the 12-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch TFT digital metre cluster, multiple USB charging ports, powered and heated front seats with WildTrak embossing, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents, six speakers, and many more.

Safety is also paramount on the new V6 WildTrak, where the truck gets a comprehensive ADAS suite, which includes functions like autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with junction assist, blind spot monitoring (BSM) with trailer coverage, lane keeping aid (LKA), evasive steer assist (ESA), rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), and many more. Other safety features primed here include seven airbags and a 360-degree camera-view system, to name a few.
